Those are at least 2’45 late in the GC. Paleni opens the stage, but the first real competitor is the Swiss NC Dillier (190th, +7’29). He seems a bit far back to gain much, but he sets a time of 16’03. Vanderpool (+0’22) or Uwizeyimana +0’32) are quite far from the hot seat. Even Nyoni finishes 14 seconds off. Instead, it’s another UBS rider in Haugard who takes the lead (15’58).

Though he was the best on the time check, Beniusis finishes 14 seconds off. Probably another disappointment for Zalgiris. Howson isn’t in for the win also (+0’07).

Turgis finishes for this group, well off the pace (+1’09).

Ioannidis is one of those who might try to get higher in the GC today. 16’19 might give him a nice edge of many competitors.
Meanwhile, Lau cant for anything, but parading in the polkadots.

Norsgaard is the first to come short of the best time. 16’08, right before Golovash finishes with a good time (+0’04).

That is, before Durbridge dethrones Haugard: 15’48. Vangstad is 14’’ short, while Belevics isn’t in his best days (+0’35). Daniel lost silly time on the flat, but does decently today (+0’31).

Then come most of the sprinters. None of them can really chase for the win.

Now the fight for the GC! There are 53 seconds between Rodenberg (1st) and Kulikovskiy (20th). But the Russian already loses 1’21.

Potocki (+0’28) can hope for a place on the podium, with a great day. 6Th (+0’15) is quite good in that regard, but not enough to beat Paillot, who slots in 2nd: 15’55.

Kmieliauskas finishes in the same time, while Powless loses 12 seconds. At best, the American will finish 3rd in the GC.
Same story for Christapopoulos.

But the star of the day already is on t he road. Dunbar takes the lead in the stage and the GC (15’47). Will it be enough to win it all? We’ll see soon enough.

At least, it’s enough to beat Bjerg (+0’04) and Cataford (+0’07). And as those were the last real contenders, with mostly sprinters coming behind and losing more than a minute, it’s soon enough evident that Dunbar will win the Post Danmark Rundt!
