Chrono d'Arenberg
Imladrik
31 km of time-trialing in the formidable Trouée d’Arenberg are on the menu today. The bookies don’t think the time-trialists will be too troubled though. Let’s see what happens.

Riders 1 to 33 – Chrono 1

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/grm.png Pedersen is not too bad a time-trialist, but he’s a world class cobbler; He sets a first time of 18’24. He’s beaten by 3 seconds by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/t3a.png Perez, who’s not too bad a cobbler but his decent on the TT bike, so that seems to confirm the bookmakers sight.

On the other hand, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/elc.png Summerhill is a bad time-trialist and that shows: he loses one minute.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/lpu.png Siddikov next beats the best time by 7 seconds: 18’12. That’s beaten by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/jur.png Kung: 18’10.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/elc.png Stavrakakis wraps up this bunch. He’s tied with Kung.

Riders 34 to 66 – Chrono 1

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/kng.png Tiller opens this bunch with a time of 18’38.
But all eyes already are on pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/lpu.png Gamper, who expectedly takes the lead: 18’02. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/eav.png Lampawog comes 5 seconds short.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/akm.png Anderberg is one of the other favorites. He slots in the same time than Gamper.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/kng.png Van Baarle (+0’05) or pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/mol.png Scotson (+0’07) aren’t far off.

The pure time-trialists, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/xr0.png Ganna, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/pol.png Mullen and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/ino.png Dunbar finish the run. They lose respectively 2, 3 and 6 seconds. Let’s see if they can recover this.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/grm.png Pedersen’s final time is 36’08. That’s beaten by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/t3a.png Perez: 36’01.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/jur.png Kung then takes the hot seat with 35’37, while pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/pol.png Krul takes provisional 4th : 36’06.

Riders 34 to 66 – Finish

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Reports/PTHC/Arenberg/20250412001711_1.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/lpu.png Gamper takes the hot seat with a nice margin: 35’22. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/akm.png Anderberg isn’t far, but clearly 2nd: he loses 2 seconds in the second part of the race.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/xr0.png Ganna ends up 10 seconds off the pace. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/pol.png Mullen is 14 seconds late, which means that Gamper can begins to celebrate.

And indeed, Gamper wins the Chrono d’Arenberg: Dunbar loses 20 seconds.
