Tour de Romandie - Stage 6

Last stage of the Tour de Romandie sees us arrive in Geneva, probably for a mass sprint. With onlu 18 mountain points in play, they’ll probably not be anyone trying to overcome pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/tir.png Arndt in this classification. The intermediate sprint, on the contrary, will be observed with attention, as they could still have an impact on the GC.

The peloton might have a hard time controlling the break, as it’s very big for a flattish stage. Clearly the week has taken its toll! 16 riders have a 3’40 gap to the peloton of the foot of the first cat. 3 climb, Mont-la-Ville.

Alexander is the closest in the GC (+18’46), and Bayer could make it 1-2 for JEWA if he were to win the 18 mountain points.

Bayer isn’t interested in the mountain classification and the breakaway rolls through it. All for the stage then!

The next isn’t more contested, and Podium Ambition is now pulling the break. The gap is 4’30 with 120 km left. The same teams are chasing.

Gomez vaguely accelerates for the sprint in Bothus. The gap is now down to 3 minutes.

Without any menace for the GC, Lierse let the sprinters’ teams do the work alone. It’s all down to Lotto, Minions and ISA.

Feieresein wins the sprint from the peloton.

No major change in any of the classifications. Oomen takes a great win in Romandie. Reis is 2nd and can console himself with the points classification. JEWA were always in control for the mountain classification, more or less, and they deservedly take it home. Johannessen wasn’t ever in danger for the best young rider jersey, while UBS takes another team classification victory.
