This means the end of the road of the Duolingo project. After four years helping to bring new languages to people around the world, our owls are going to stop chasing you for you daily lesson.
New sponsors are being negotiated and should be announced soon.

Dammit, I was going to call my next HQ "Not Duolingo" to try and get some clicks to find out what team it was Imagine my shock when it was just the old Duolingo Interested to see who steps up to sponsor the team and how you handle the downsizing.
Can't wait to see my guy Debesay destroy the PCT. If god forbid he's on the relegation cutting room floor, you know where to find me

It was definitely unlucky for you to draw one of the two short straws in that really close relegation battle - and looking at your team doesn't leave me too optimistic about my own chances
Renewals outcome will be really interesting to see - but I guess if Eastman and Debesay are kind, you could end up keeping almost your entire PT roster together - which sounds scary to me
Good luck for renewals, transfers & your bounce-back challenge
PS: Interested to see whether you keep the Swiss flag just for tax reasons

Following the demise of the late Duolingo project, the search for new sponsors began in earnest. Obviously companies like Tesla, Amazon or Google tried their best to find representation with our outfit, but our decision turned elsewhere.
Introducing...
| | | | DuckDuckGo | Title Sponsor | | | | | Everesting | Title Sponsor | | | | | Velogames | Gambling Sponsor | | | | | Rose Bikes | Equipment Sponsor | | | | | Catlike | Equipment Sponsor |
The choice of sponsors is easy to explain. We hope to climb to the top of the ranks while navigating the PCT division safely. Or at least that's what we've been told to write in the press release.
The team's kit is an Eezefreak design, whom we wholeheartedly thank. We hope to see it prominently at the forefront of the events we take part in.

Amazing set of sponsors for sure! Can't wait to see what you'll do with the new chapter in your team's story. Ezee as always a true master of his craft. The transfer window should be an interesting one for sure, good luck!

From Owls to Ducks mining the avian themed sponsors of the world.
Although hope you aren't too focused on the primary sponsor region, we don't need more teams fighting over US riders.
Good luck in the season.

The Duolingo owl will be missed, but the DuckDuck-duck is a very welcome addition to the game. Glad to see you continue, and hopefully you can bounce back to PT in style!

Sorry for the late replies:
@jandal: Ahaha sorry to bet you to it. You can always name it Not Duolingo, it's still factually correct. We'll see about Debesay, he should be a beast in PCT, but you never know.
@Fab: The budget cut is always tricky to navigate, but I guess I'm sort of a relegation expert by now. I guess the tax exemption has worn off by now. I'll leave Switzerland for the reall Swiss.
@KA: Hopefully this kit sees us through some good fortune next year.
@UU: Ahah indeed. Perhaps we'll set up shop in Anaheim. I wouldn't be too worried about our regional focus I reckon.
@SotD: Thanks, me too
@Nemo: Thanks, you too. The PT will surely miss some ducks and chickens.

As you have said yourself you're a bit of a relegation expert, and I think that your renewals are going to be super telling for what the plans are for the team going forward. On paper there are some strong leadership candidates on your team, if you're able to fit them under the "small" PCT cap. Most likely going to be a scary looking promotion candidate once we start season!

Not that it wasn't the case before, but I expect you to continue managing the team with great professionalism and perhaps an increased level privacy for the people you deal with.
Good luck with this next chapter

Nice to see you back, with a cool jersey and a cool sponsor. I can see an axis for better cycling emerging.

Tight renewals, great base you've brought down and so much room to play with on top of that. Not sure what you want in the long-term but could easily see you putting together a title side if you just wanted short term glory

Agree - This is a very solid place to start. I do think 600K for Debesay is a bit much, but can't say anything like that to the rest. Well done!

Those are great riders to have, but you're at 10/20 so I expect you'll make some moves to fit the PCT cap space. Interested to see whether you try to bounce back or go for a slower build.
