4 very appropriate nominees here. I'm tempted to go with Wright since he was a bigger "surprise" to me than Girmay, who was poised for a breakout year. But at the same time, I didn't vote Girmay for RotY, and this seems appropriate.

Fred Wright for me. He was a true surprise. The other 3 have been tipped to be top riders for a couple of years. Wright went from no-mark squad filler to the new Thomas De Gendt overnight.

Expecting his first breakaway win this season coming Banana

Zingle and De Lie actually got less wins last season than they had the season before, so their seasons weren't really that surprising.

This is Zingle all the way, nobody had him running while all others were projected to once perform as they did.
