The GT wildcards can be announced, while the other PT events still need to wait a little bit. Unfortunately not all teams are able to get a GT wildcard and teams missed out this year as different to some other years the interest was higher than the available spots.
The Giro d'Italia will see Bralirwa - Stevens making theit GT debut (and Madrazo maybe with the last chance to win a GT?) while Lierse is coming back after a break. They have some history in the race since Dall'Oste`s KoM run. Though they never had a GT rider such as Oomen before iirc.
The Tour de France was highly contested and next the the Giro was easily the most wanted Grand Tour. Gjensidige is celebrating their GT debut while Cedevita celebrated this 2 years ago already and now is again racing a GT. This could see the likes of former podium rider Kritskiy having a last shot while Cedevita has always the name Beltran written all over it but here probably even more the name of a potential future winner in unmaxed Pogacar.
The Vuelta a Espana was as said the least wanted GT, which also has to do with clashing races. 2 teams that were on the edge to miss out on a GT will instead get the chance to race the Vuelta a Espana. It`s Project Africa and Team Popo4Ever. African GC rider Berhane and obviously the duo Pluchkin/Padun are potential leaders here in case they can avoid the clashing races.
(in case the Vuelta is that unwanted, a chance is there to swap out of a GT if the teams missing out would instead go for it)

I'm actually surprised to see that only one newly promoted team is going to a GT. Given that teams who haven't raced one yet get priority, I guess the 7 other teams just didn't apply.
Obviously Bralirwa sticks out with Madrazo's potential participation, but I guess PT managers won't be looking forward either to see Oomen, Padun/Pluchking or Eddy at the start line

Finding 200k for me to chase wildcards was just a little too much with how my transfer season panned out, rather be able to dedicate my full attention on planning well enough to stay afloat in the PCT, and then maybe I can have some fun next year, as long as prio rules don't get changed.

Giro was my 1st choice. Vuelta would have been a bit awkward as those clashes are super nasty. So I'm perfectly content with going to the Tour, once again
Looking forward to getting the news on other wildcards as well as getting the planners

TDF here we come!
If we only get 1 season in the PCT, we had to jump on the chance to ride the TDF.

For once I should check what teams I want in the GTs and decide then...
Giro goals become more difficult I guess. |

A very clashing Vuelta... But with me having like 100 riders that's never a problem

correct wildcarsd in first post. This is a bit outdated due to Project: Africa only going to GT.
6 teams in total for 10 spots resulted in three teams with 2 monument wildcards and 3 teams with one depending on their other wildcards.
Project:Africa will send their Africans to Milano San Remo just like Voyagin with a strong puncheur/sprint duo, which also will shop up for Liege Bastogne Liege, where Kinoshita might fight against the top PT riders.
They are joined in Belgium by Gjensidige around Eiking, who has also Lombardia as 2nd race, where a potential triple P trio of Padun, Pluchkin and Prevar could really surprise.
The cobbles will be for Trans Looney Tunes and Lierse. LAter with Gamber in Vlaanderen, while first show up in both sending former Lierse rider Vanbilsen surely alongside Vanspeybrouck.
| Milano San Remo | Project: Africa | Voyagin - Bird | | Ronde van Vlaanderen | Trans Looney Tunes | Lierse SK | | Paris - Roubaix | Trans Looney Tunes | - | | Liege- Bastogne - Liege | Gjensidige Pro Cycling | Voyagin - Bird | | Giro di Lombardia | Gjensidige Pro Cycling | Team Popo4Ever |
Just 5 teams were aiming for a stage race wildcard and with 16 spots available they got quite a few race days there.
The mountaineous Paris Nice might see some MG legends around Pluchkin and Madrazo as Popo4Ever and Bralirwa are invited.
The clashing Tirreno - Adriatico then could see PCT top rider Beltran for Cedevita or the Oomen/De Plus duo for Lierse.
Northern Europe is always a race for a Belgium team such as Lierse, even though their cobble squad is reduced a lot in comparison to previous years. They are joined by Bralirwa and Stallaert.
Qatar for the sprinters and Silvestre surely a rider to have shown skills to do well here, just like Afewerki as Bralirwa and Project:Africa will race in the Qatari desert.
Later also go for sprints in Praha Karlovy Praha alongside Cedevita, who also show up in the Ronde van Nederland without a real proper sprinter though. Same for Popo4Ever as second wildcard.
Tasmania for Popo4Ever`s puncheur/timetrialists alongside Project:Africa and aidan sending aidan maybe?
Lat but not least the Scandinavian Open Road Race where Lierse is showing up again.
| Paris - Nice | Team Popo4Ever | Bralirwa - Stevens | | Tirreno - Adriatico | Cedevita | Lierse SK | | Tour of Northern Europe | Bralirwa - Stevens | Lierse SK | | Tour of Qatar | Project: Africa | Bralirwa - Stevens | | Praha - Karlovy Vary - Praha | Project: Africa | Cedevita | | Ronde van Nederland | Cedevita | Team Popo4Ever | | Scandinavia Open Road Race | Lierse SK | - | | Tour of Tasmania | Team Popo4Ever | Project: Africa |
9 teams for 24 spots in the PT classics means a mix of 2-3 classics per team.
The Ardennes will see Gjensidige doing both, which might be a first as they might have a small chance on a Ardennes triple actually. No pressure on Eiking of course.
Amaysim for the Amstel Gold Race and Philips for the Fleche Wallone might test their puncheurs.
The time trial events in Herbiers and Copenhagen Malmo got surprisingly high interest by Minions. They will ride both with Amaysim joining for the ITT and Popo4Ever for the TTT.
The triple PT clash early season won`t see a clash for PT wildcard teams. Amaysim Cervelo and Philips - Force India with another puncheur opportunity.
The cobbles are a strong part for Carlsberg here. They join the E3 Prijs, Macskako Kerekparvrseny and Strada Appia Antica, which gives Italian veteran Trentin a lot of chances to prove himself on highest level.
Trans Looney Tunes will join them for the E3 Prijs with Philips in Macskako Kerek and Lierse for the Strada Appia Antica continueing their cobble adventure in the Pro Tour.
East Midlands for Project Africa and Lierse, while first also join Trans Looney Tunes for the mountain classic in Liechtenstein.
LAst but not least the sprinter races in Moscow and Koln. Gjensidige and Trans Looney for first and Minions and Popo4Ever for later.
| Amstel Gold Race | Amaysim Cervélo | Gjensidige Pro Cycling | | Chrono des Herbiers | Amaysim Cervélo | Minions - Subwoolfer | | Classique du Grand-Duché | Amaysim Cervélo | Philips - Force India | | Copenhagen-Malmo TTT | Minions - Subwoolfer | Team Popo4Ever | | E3 Prijs | Carlsberg - Danske | Trans Looney Tunes | | East Midlands Cicle Classic | Project: Africa | Lierse SK | | Fleche Wallonne | Philips - Force India | Gjensidige Pro Cycling | | GP Liechtenstein | Project: Africa | Trans Looney Tunes | | GP Moscow | Gjensidige Pro Cycling | Trans Looney Tunes | | Macskako Kerekparverseny | Carlsberg - Danske | Philips - Force India | | Rund um Koln | Minions - Subwoolfer | Team Popo4Ever | | Strada Appia Antica | Carlsberg - Danske | Lierse SK |

Very happy with those wildcards. As you alluded to, I think we should be able to field competitive teams in all of them. Looking forward to competing on the biggest stages a lot

Looks like it has rarely be so easy to get lots of PT wildcards (except for GTs), so even more disappointing that we aren't in PCT this year. Anyway, looking forward to some good racing with PCT teams stealing lots of points as usual

Should be fun! Wasn't too concerned with wildcards this year, having already had a great Giro experience last year, but happy to get a few classics with the little leftover money I had.

The correct wildcards are in post 1!
A small update makes post #12 outdated...
Project:Africa is only going for a GT and has lost the other wildcards.
Lierse SK will step into the Milano San Remo spot. While the others remain unused! |

Congrats to all awarded teams. Some of them will actually be semi-PT teams by the nr of race days achieved. Madrazo, Plucshkin or Oomen competinf at this level isnt ideal, but then stop selling these guys to the PCT
