Two differences I noticed:
1. In PCM22 the files are all in SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Pro Cycling Manager 2022
2. Ignore the comments about file sizes, those have changed.
If you just want to see your jersey in races and are not worried about the sponsor name in the game then follow the instructions for adding a jersey but instead of adding a new one, overwrite an existing one by renaming the files to match the existing ones. So for example if you overwrite Bahrain Merida in the game they will still call you Bahrain Merida but in races your shirt will show up. This does not require any database editing.
