The first testing stage of the race
Anuar Manan was surprisingly part of an early move. It got caught though
The 6 who did get away were Ostergaard, Joseph, Torres, Lavoine, Goddaert and Loh
Joseph and Torres were the strongest of the break
With 48km to go, there were some attacks from the peleton.
Ben Nasser got a large gap while others did not
He worked himself up to the breakaway
And left them behind not long later on the final climb of the day
Around 90 seconds behind them are the peleton, and Phinney is the first to attack
Uran is the first to make a particularly strong attack
Over the top and with 11km to go, Ben Nasser still leads
30 seconds later are Uran, Abal and Kolesnikov
A further 30 seconds back are Dees, Pluchkin, Van Stayen, Henao Montoya, Panayotov, Ivars and Gautier
Kolesnikov leads the charge for 2nd - Ben Nasser isnt going to be caught
Victory for the Tunisian!
2nd for Kolesnikov
Abal outsprints Uran for 3rd
Gautier sprints to 5th ahead of Van Stayen - but they wiped out the gap between their group and the group of their team leaders. Infact, all of the first 11 were given the same time.
