I have just bought PCM 2021 and as i see it it is just a carbon copy of a ten year old game. It plays exactly the same as PCM 2012 or at least with very little difference and PCM 2012 is not a very good game. It all went wrong arround 2007-10. Since, it is apaling to see how few and how poor the game mechanics that have been added since PCM 2010 are. As of right now you are paying 40 euros for updated ridertags. I am done bying PCM-games. They are simply too poor and play as a game more than 10 years old by now. |

I find it very frustrating that i have to manage a national team. Why is there no option to not manage a national team? Also the whole transfersystem as a game mechanic with the point system is to me a laughing matter. It is seldom to see such a poor game mechanic. I mean they made it worse. Instead of contacting the players directly as in real life they give you this gamey mechanic with points and how you allocate them. Very disappointing. |

Also, the fact it force stops the game every 14 days is soo bad. I mean who thought up that mechanic? I have to take care of some pointless mail, be it allocating transfer points or managing a national team that i dont care about at all every 14 days. I mean where is the fun in that? |

Also, just think about it. Does it make sense for a manager of a proffessionel cycling team to also manage the national team? Isn't there a conflict of interest there? If we suppose that some of the riders on the national team also feature in the managers squad. It is completely senseless, yet a default non-changeable game mechanic. God i hate this game. I used to love it back in the day arround 2004-2007 when it wasn't atrociously bad. |

Also, why can i not take a loan like before in previous versions? I hired one extra trainer, ONE, and now my balance is in the red and i cant sign new riders or renew contracts. That is just broken man... |

Also, is it really so that if you spent all 60 transfer point on actual transfers you cannot renew contracts with the riders in your squad? If that is so that might be the worst game mechanic i ever encountered in any game. i quit. |

I agree with many of your criticisms (I do like that you're a national team manager, but it could certainly be handled better). On this point, they didn't mess up quite that badly though: Your own riders below a certain level (I don't know exactly which, but think riders 74 AVG and lower, plus minus one or two) don't cost you any points in the negotiations, so you can resign them even if you spent all your points already.

I really tried to give this game a chance and played it for 3 days straight. But it never got fun. This is by far the worst game design i have ever seen in any game ever. All the mechanics are so bad. I will not buy a PCM game in a Very long time. |

It is so easy to hate this game. Two thins that are so obviously broken. The force stopping of your game for totally unimportant trivialities and the sponsorsystem where the sponsors, no matter what, all the time, will set totally unreachable goals that guarentee that they cut your budget every year, and so your team always regress making it unfun to play. Fuck whoever designed this game, they took a solid game and made it into trash. |

everything is wrong. i start up a pro cyclist. first race. objective is to get in a break away. i cant. im stuck in the back. when i finally get unstuck i break away. i cant reach the break away. im stuck again between peloton and break away for about 50 km. the 50 km does not count towards the 110 km goal of break away. I get a "bad" valuation and 0 points. This game is broken beyond belief. |

Now tell us how you really feel.....This game is hilarious and after some tinkering in the database it not that bad. You forgot to tell us that if you manage a team , some riders are unhappy they have not won a race, like that is even a thing with the majority being just domistiques and team sport is what its all about. |

I have many issues with the game but not many match the ones mentioned here.
National Team - I sim the national races if one of my own riders wasn't good enough to be included or if you prefer pick your own riders even if they aren't good enough so you have some interest.
Game stopping every two weeks - pure exaggeration this one. Yes there are stops but it is far from every 2 weeks.
Transfer system - I think it would be worse if you could approach anyone anytime to sign them. I prefer that the game has some kind of mechanic for this even if it's not perfect.
Sponsor goals - I fail some, exceed others and almost every season get the full bump on money available from sponsors. The more you play the easier this will get. The goals are often silly but other results can often balance it out. e.g. doing well in a grand tour even if it's not a goal will be worth almost as much as any sponsor goal.
Getting in a breakaway - a lot harder in PCM21 and probably broken. Some riders I can get away easily while others the peleton kills itself chasing no matter how poor they are. It's like some riders have some flag set (will not be allowed to get away). Also there is a period shortly after the first successful breakaway gets away that you will not be able to join them no matter what you do (which is realistic enough as in real life teams will decide not to let anybody else away). |

I know it is a year’s old post but I have to say something to all those negative comments.
Reality: It take money to create a game, it takes money to pay the programmer. To get money to build this game, you need to sell it. So I would say that they have make choice on where they put their money in developing the game. If you put yourself in their shoes you would want to get the most out of every dollar and aim towards growing sales so you can have more budget to improve the game years on.

Like OP said, the game has been the same for over 10 years now. You say they need money to improve the game, they made money for over 10 years but still no improvements. It only looks a little different (lay outs) but the 3D race has been the same. I'm not playing the game to read e-mails but to win races. It's like if Fifa wouldn't change their mechanics for over 10 years, nobody would still be buying the game. |
