Stats dropping at 28?

I have Simon Yates in my team and noticed that his stats have started to decline. Has this happened to anyone else?

Is this just a random selection or is there anything I can do to prevent this?

I to be honest am not sure how it is handled in PCM20.

In older versions of the game every rider had an stat decline age defined in the DB. Some might have this with mid/late 20. Others with mid 30 only.

I am not sure if it was randomly set when starting a career or was possible to edit by DB editors.

But it for sure was possible to be edited in an existing career in DYN_cyclist. Something like age_recline column in there.

If this has changed in PCM20 ignore this. Pfft

did you notice which stats decrease compared to his training? There's a rare case where you train a skill which already reached the max and a level up brings just to a downgrade of "useless" stats.

Generally, yes, a few riders start declining this early. In PCM 20 there isn't a fixed age of decline you can edit in the db, the column roturn mentioned is gone. However, you could just increase his stats again with an editor.

I didn't find this parameter (age_decline) as well. It's weird that they took it out. Random it's fun, of course, but not always.
Let's save the history of PCM together!

Just write me a PM if you have something for old PCM Editions (from 2005 to 2014) - databases, stages, shirts etc. and we'll share it.

In options.xml, line 48, there is a variable called <Option_Career_CaracsEvo>
It is set to 0.5 since some PCM games.
In PCM13 I remember that this value was impacting both increase and decrease of stats. I used to play with 0.25 which was enough to have some "Valverde"-likes cyclists later in the game.
Now in PCM 20 you cannot set this value through game settings but you could change the value yourself in options.xml.
I've not done intensive testing to check if this value is still working but this may be a nightmare to test because skills increase and decrease are now working by steps and not linearly point by point.
