CT Rankings #1
roturn
The main points come from C2 and C2HC as usual with Tachira being the dominant C2 stage race this month for the stage racers while C2HC saw the puncheur classic Yekaterinburg and the sprinter event in Great Ocean Race.

C1 against PCT in Down Under and Gisborne while one team even tried it in HC in the Down Under Classic.

Tachira just ended and it ended well for Pinot showing that he might be the best stage racer of the division! Behind him Keinath also despite ageing beating new star Ranaweera as also Warbasse following strong despite not very spectacular on many stages. Point wise Project Africa takes it but Los Pollos Hermanos coming close as Manarelli was strongest in the sprints, Petrovski in the KoM and Marquez adding for the GC.

Yekaterinburg was another strong race from relegated Philips as Kelderman showed his favourite card there by winning. Gjensidige, Carlsberg, Centovalli other teams with decent performances. First actually also took the Great Ocean Road Race via the first big breakaway classic win this season beating the sprinters from the other teams.

Coming to HC, Centovalli actually showed a great race scoring 75 points in the Down Under Classic as Reinhardt challenged the best there.

Also in the Tour Down Under, Edmondson for BNZ and Jaramillo`s KoM win for Europcar delivered them nice points while Gisborne was nicely ridden by Gjensidige`s Eiking as also Centovalli`s depth despite lacking the top individual performance.

In total Gjensidige has started nicely, even though a bit surprising in 1st due to their Great Ocean coup. Philips as top favourite already following but also Project Africa, Centovallo, Los Pollos, Carlsberg, Carrefour or Tryg having scored well even though some clearly were hoping to have done better so far!

At the bottom not the best start for Glanbia, Nordica, Eddie Stobart mainly as also McCormic, who have used the most race days and the penultimate scoring! In especially in comparison to their strong Holloway run last year at the same time of the season!

Individually Pinot at the top, though with 10 race days used already and on C2 scoring only. Though also Edmondson next having done 10 rd already while Kelderman in 4th is not far being with 2rd. Katrasnik being a bit of a surprise that high and also Reinhardt might struggle to keep this going.

Eiking, Keinath, Moscon, Ranaweera all need to go on like this and might end the year in the top10 helping their teams a lot while Manarelli is a rider clearly unsure of his consistency and couple of riders such as Juul-Jensen, Warbasse etc. still go score big most likely which would be good for Carlsberg of course.

Great start for us! We just did a month with more than 20 PpRD, despite the bummer in Australia (GORC), which sees us as the 2nd most efficient team behind Gjensidige, who had a true lucky punch there. Of course, I can't complain either, with Reinhardt getting a great result in DUC!

Yekaterinburg was great with Moscon's podium, even though some more depth scoring would have been nice. And finally, we were missing the top result in Gisborne, but we had the depth there, making us leave as the best scoring CT team.

I wouldn't have thought that we could be 4th after January - even closer to 1st than to 5th - but we have to keep up the good pace to defend that promotion spot in February.

Congrats to hillis for a really great and efficient start, and to Aidan for a dominant showing in Venezuela! And Philips are where everyone expected them to be, well done Smile

Interestingly, this is the highest we've ever been in our history in any month end standings, so it's nice Grin

Congrats to hillis and Gjensidige on the great month and taking the lead. Thanks for the update roturn Smile

Slow start for us with some appearances but clear lack of scoring in all races. Onwards and upwards! Thanks for the timely ranking.

Thanks for the update already!

I'm not too worried about anything based on just the standings so far. 6th is fine and Tachira and Yekaterinburg were both successful races for us. I'm not gonna panic because we're technically outside the promotion position at the end of January. Small sample size and some fluke results.

I am a bit worried about our placing however knowing how bad AKA was in Great Ocean RR. How can I have any faith in him for the season ahead after that terrible of a performance? Behind sprinters and domestiques of every type basically. I don't need him to win, but finishing 16th is just ridiculously bad from him.

Sprints look just as random as last year except for some guys who just seem destined for improbable greatness (i.e. Holloway). Not complaining so much as stating what I believe to be fact, and one that I knew was a possibility coming in when I risked training AKA. So I can only blame myself. Nevertheless, unless something changes, I'm not looking forward to seeing him sprint anymore this year. His resistance, flat and sprint should allow him to beast high paced and windy finishes, but both last year and now this year, it has never played out that way.

So, we'll forge ahead, although our team is probably going to be a bit less well rounded than I hoped. Juul-Jensen and Warbasse were encouraging though, and Sinkeldam is yet to be seen. I think we can still promote with some luck even if AKA continues to under-perform.

And just like everyone predicted, Gjensidige leads after the first ranking update ...

Pinot Africa and Pbilips are no surprise being so high on the list so early considering the races we have seen already and im especially glad that Keinath is the top 3 ct stage racer so far that i thought he would be.

Meanwhile Ranaweera and Strava have to improve a bit in the races to come...

Thank you all, it can only go downhill from here.
But after a very suprising start to the season, we will bask in the short lived glory Smile

Phillips and Project Africa in the top 3 allready as predicted! Let's bring on February and March, and i suspect we will see the promotion canditates flourish.

Gjensidge projected points around 4500? Grin Congratz on a great month, hillis! Happy with Los Pollos Hermanos as well so far, but I do expect at least 4-5 teams to overtake us rather sooner than later. Not the biggest problem though, as top-10 was our goal and it still is Smile

No surprise that we are near the top considering 10 days at Tachira. Don’t expect many points in the races to come - will be major spikes in our points scoring this season. Hopefully those spikes are enough to keep us in the top 10

Hmm, already quite a bit far from promotion. Let's see if my planning is better in the other months.

Pinot with about double the points more than our entire squad combined

Thank you for the very nice ranking update roturn!

Thanks for the update. When everyone including you thinks you are going to finish last it creates a certain peace of mind.

I am focusing my worries on AKA instead.

A good start for us and excited to see how Edmondson goes in the individual rankings! He is a key piece in our promotion bid as is Wippert who both races well in the first month of the season. Let’s keep going and hopefully we can continue our good form!!

sammyt93
Not the start we were hoping from for Ranaweera, hopefully his other races go better, otherwise this will be a longer season than anticipated.

TinxiaS
I can see that our team had the slowest start fall teams in CT. We really didn't have a lucky start into the first season on the first race in Russia but we've proven that our team can be still strong in some other terrains. I hope that at the end of the full season we will be a bit higher. Pfft:lol:

Congrats to Gjensidige who had only 6 RD and ate already on the top.
