The transfer season is over, and the only thing left for us is to await the draft results later tonight. However we can already now present the main core of our 2020-squad.
Due to a difficult renewal situation after the relegation from PCT, all our leaders needed to leave the team. With limited salary cap, we then decided to try going for squad depth instead of splashing the cash on one single rider.
We are unsure how this strategy will work in the CT-division.
Our biggest hopes is to yet again be involved in the promotion fight, but we are curious (and afraid) to see how our rival teams are looking after transfers.
without further ado, here is our team for the 2020-season:
Climbers | Name | Main ability | Contract | Darwin Atapuma | 78 | €75,000 | Daniel Alexander Jaramillo | 77 | €72,000 | Heiner Rodrigo Parra Bustamente | 77 | €100,000 | Sebastian Henao | 76 | €125,000 | Marko Pavlic | 75 | €75,000 | Jacques Janse van Rensburg | 74 | €50,000 | Nick Miller | 73 | €50,000 | Puncheurs | Daniel Paulus | 77 | €80,000 | Michael Gogl | 76 | €60,000 | Martin Weiss | 76 | €60,000 | Philip Lavery | 76 | €54,000 | Adrian Honkisz | 76 | €50,000 | Michael Vink | 75 | €50,000 | Meron Amanuel | 75 | €0 | Kamil Zielinski | 74 | €50,000 | Martin Mahdar | 73 | €0 | Time Trialists | Kristjan Koren | 76 | €75,000 | Sprinters | Christian Ranneries | 78 | €50,000 | Daniel Schorn | 77 | €50,000 | Thomas Vedel Kvist | 76 | €50,000 |

I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that letting Kvist and Ranneries go is going to come back to bite me...
Great climbing squad you got here, looking forward to competing with you!

Suprisingly decent roster you've managed to assemble despite having to flip an entire team at the start of transfers, I don't think you'll go straight back up but a top 10 should most definetely be on the cards.

Very glad to see Nick Miller finding a team here, if he can get into breakaways he should outperform that 73MO/HI with the very solid RES-ACC he has, and also is a pretty good domestique. Just one minor cog in your huge climbing squad though

Totally missed that someone signed Miller. Great news. He's been quite a fun rider even on PT level. Breakaways guaranteed.

I was very surprised to bring them in uncontested. Especially Kvist who have some very interresting qualities besides sprinting. Two nice danes you have developed and I will try to treat them as good as in Carlsberg!

Thanks! I agree that our team is not among the best in the divisions, but with some luck (and probably quite a few PCT-foldings) we might just bounce right back up

Thanks, we thought his stats was too interresting to overlook in the final days of the transfer window. He will ride as much as he is allowed to

I will forward all the love to Nick Miller that he receives in this thread. Thanks tsmoha, I hope that he will perform just as good in Team Europcar. |

We would like to announce our two latest arrivals that were drafted in on the final day of transfers.
Meron Amanuel
We welcome the first ever african Europcar-rider. With his great hill climbing ability, he was hard to overlook for us with all the hilly races we're going in to this season.
Martin Mahdar
A real Europcar legend returns!
Or atleast a former rider. He was drafted mostly by sentimental reasons, but he is well able to ride in both hilly and montaneous races and serve bottle to the leaders.
This is the 3rd time Mahdar is being signed by us and very likely to also be the 3rd time not getting his contract renewed. Don't be surprised if you see him ride for us again in 2021 though |

Jersey reveal
We will be riding in the same nice green colours as last year, but when it comes to time trials there will be one exception.
We would like to congratulate Kristjan Koren on his great victory in the Slovenian Time Trial Championship!
That means he will be wearing both of these wonderful jerseys this season.
Once again, a big thank you to our jersey designer Bikex!

I really like the depth on your team and think you belong to the group of managers competing for the promotion to PCT (be it directly or through some disbands), good luck this season

New sponsor!
After a miserable season, Europcar decided to not renew it's sponsorship contract with the team. After weeks of searching, team manager Bjartne was approached by a local norwegian power company and now the contract is signed.
A huge thanks to shirt designer hillis91!
The new sponsor is Tafjord Kraft with headquarters in Ålesund, Norway!
A big part of the deal is that that the team should slowly transitioning from the old Europcar-profile towards the new strategy of signing only talents from mainly Nordic countries.
Tafjord Kraft promises on their half to give time to this new project, so that eventually we'll be able to promote with self-developed riders from the area.
Manager Bjartne says he's excited to give youth a chance, even though the squad core as of now is way past 30 years.
"We had to do something drastically with the squad anyway, so I'm relieved we now share a common goal in the future squad building. This will of course not help us promote next season, and maybe not the next two seasons either, but I'm confident this will be the right step forward in the long term.
One of the things Bjartne is most looking forward to, is to build a competetive Avenir-squad.
"This will finally give us the chance to compete in U-23-races with our own team colours, and we're really looking forward to it! Hopefully, we can also help Norway U-23 to compete with the big guns in the Worlds after some seasons."
The future looks bright on the norwegian west coast.

Very, very interesting move here to change to a Scandinavian focus. There's certainly room for it, especially with Volvo disbanding. I'm sure we'll be both talking and competing during the transfer season ahead.

Interesting statement to make. Entering the potientially most saturated market in the entire MG is a bold choice, lets hope it works out for you.

Good luck with your new sponsor and regional focus next season. Scandinavia sure is popular

I know my place in the hierarchy, so the biggest or semi-biggest names won't ride in our jersey anyway. I think it could work out pretty well in the long-term. |

Indeed a popular region, but I can see that also the Balcans have gained a lot more interrest over the years. At least I won't bother you in the hunt for eastern european gold. Best of luck! |
