 GP Lugano
October continues with two clashing HC races, both of which are hilly classics. The GP Lugano is new to the calendar this year, but has still attracted a number of big names such as  Kinoshita and  Schreurs, as well as the wildcard here in  Roglic. However, overall most of the division's top puncheurs are in Italy, so will we see some of the second tier puncheurs come to the fore here?

This is our one and only home race, pretty much passing by our headquarters. So we're really happy for yet another HC wildcard - unfortunately the race collides with our third HC race of the year, Giro dell'Emelia, so we had to split our "big guns" among these two races. Of course, we send our Swiss riders to their home race, while the Italians get theirs on the same day. Given the strong competition and our lack of hill specialists, we'll have to bet on a breakaway win. Anyway, let's just enjoy "our" race

Not sure what to expect with this race. Hoping to win but I fear the flat finish wont suit Kinoshita, and a rider with better SPR will take it. The MO stat may be crucial in the early stages of the day too, which may further hurt Kinoshita's chances.

Certainly don't see this one being for the climbers, pure puncheurs should have no problem here, maybe even ones that have some kick for a bunch sprint after coming of the top of that last little bump.

Cerny should like this finish, if he isn't dropped along the way. But the fact that only De Plus makes the preview, has me kind of worried

A truly pointless race for us. 4 riders in the front group sounds good, but if the best is just 41st, that's not very useful... Nice to see Freuler trying, but I guess his chances would have been way better had he waited for the final sprint. At least, he showed our jersey on home soil.

Forgot I brought Silva here, kind of the perfect rider in the end. 4th, 7th, and 11th will be a decent score of points, but the race was pretty anti-climatic.

Although 6th, 8th, 10th and 17th makes for a very good points haul, we narrowly miss out on our main target here, as we had a top 5 goal. We've now failed 3/3 goals so far... not looking so good for our transfer budget for next season.
Congrats to Valio. Must say, Gautier has had a very good season in what's has generally been a tough year for puncheurs.
