Race Profile

This is the twelfth edition on a MG race in Dunkurque but the second in it's current form of a cobbled classic. Last year saw a reduced bunch sprinting for the win in Cassel, with Roger Kluge coming out on top. The course remains the same, a short initial flat section leading up to section consisting of two hills, the first of which is cobbled on the ascent. The first hill is also the climb to the finish, with the finish line in the cobbled section. Should be an interesting race.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/bia.png Kluge is back to defend his crown, but age has caught up up to him, and he is more a Top 5/Top 10 contender than a real contender for the win this time around.

The top favourite is pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/nvo.png Kasperkiewicz, who finished 4th last season, and has improved further. He hasn't had the best of seasons so far, given his potential, and will be hoping to make amends here.

Someone who has had an excellent season up until now is pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/nrh.png Van Keisbulck, and as has become customary, starts as the nearest challenger to pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/nvo.png Kasperkiewicz on the cobbles.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/min.png Minions have had an excellent season so far as well, and will hope that pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/min.png Albert can continue some of their over-performing form into this race. They have made it a habit of pulling off unexpected results, but here their leader is among the top favourites.

The pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/azt.png Azteca duo of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/azt.png Richardson and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/azt.png Orue have had decent success this season, and both will be looking for a Top 10 finish at the least to keep pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/azt.png Azteca's momentum and promotion push going.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/isa.png Bolivar is a wildcard among the favourites, a rider who hasn't really shown up at the top of results very often. However, this race could very well be an opportunity for him to change that image.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/lpu.png Joseph and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/lpu.png Verhelst did not have a good time of it in this race last season, and will be looking to improve on a terrain which is usually a strong point of their team.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2019/Micros/gcn.png Jacobs finished a poor 27th last season in this race, but he is touted to be a Top 10 contender and will be hoping to live up to that .

Hoping for some minor points here, let's see if Kasperkiewicz can actually win a classic this season (unless I missed a win somewhere).

I really don't understand why GVK outperforms Kaspa so hard every race man, but I will take it! Thanks for the report!

Also a nice little top 10 placement from Coronel, best 0 wage rider so far this season?
