Finally we arrived to the mountains in this race, with a one-climb mountain stage finishing in La Grita. Intxausti and Pinot are the favourites and will want to prove so from the first day

And Van Emden will finally give up his leader jersey, as the Signal Iduna rider gets dropped at the summit of the first climb of the day, and with no downhill, it's going to be impossible to recover anything.

In the head of the bunch, it's NENT working for Faiers right now, as Piccoli and Durasek lead the 50-rider group over this climb

7 kms to go and it's fireworks time! Tibopino is the first one to make a move, and it's closely followed by Intxausti, Saggiorato, Elissonde and Squire, while Mannion lagged a bit to follow and is struggling to catch up

Too much pace in the front group for Mannion, who has to drop out of stage winning contention

That was a very long pull by Pinot, esentially no one gave him a relay since he first attacked, and with less than 4 kms to go, Intxausti goes to the front. Still 5 riders in that first group, with the gap to the rest being around 45 seconds now, that it's being led by Atapuma right now.

Race isn't over for neither of them, but strategy wasn't the smartest for the Croatian or the Colombian, and Squire while knowing he's not a top climber, he hoped with all-rounder abilities would help him more today
