The 2018 season, the team's 3rd in the PCT and 4th in total, as well as its most successful thanks to a commanding 1st place, has finally given Generali a chance to fight it out against the highest division's big boys. Generali Assicurazioni, the leading sponsor since the team's inception, following a convincing effort by every single rider in the team, has decided to increase funding, becoming the sole title sponsor of the team.

The Availability Announcement

The renewals have brought great joy to the team manager, who managed to keep the core of the team together without any particular surprises.

We've had to begrudgingly let go of short-tenured Generali legend Ben Hermans, who has honored our jersey for a single season, but has left a huge mark inside of our hearts, thanks to his panache and insatiable will to attack, which has greatly contributed to Generali's successful 2018. Besides the Belgian daredevil, the team has had to let go of Robert Jenko, brought in last year as Edward Theuns' main lieutenant in northern classics.

Everyone else, besides the 3 stagiares, has been confirmed to head into the 2019 transfers wearing Generali's colours.

I'm surprised to see Roglic potentially on the block - he was great to watch last season. However, I guess he's getting a bit long in the tooth and isn't training eligible for much longer.
