So... consider this a 2nd Chapter to my 'Fight For Pink' story with Dumoulin and Team Sunweb.
Taking on the recommendations of tsmoha and valverde321, I am going to continue with the Grand Tour short stories, but I'll make them into a full Series!
Using historical DBs (1994 & 2014 found so far) as well 2018 & 2019 databases for PCM18, I am going to run each different GT as scenarios. Maybe recreating history or even re-writing past events and maybe succeeding where the pros had failed in real life. Who knows!
Each race will be completely different to the last and the battle on the road won't always be for the Leader's jersey, like with 'The Fight For Pink'.
Where possible, with the past races at least, I will use the real startlist from that race, and for the 2019 GTs, I will leave up to PCM to decide who goes to each race.
Hope you all enjoy!
Thanks

Awesome! Can we suggest ideas or do you already have plans?
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

I made something similar with my challenge stories in PCM14. Single Races/Stage Race from the World Tour with objectives I found had an interesting storyline.
Had a fun time with different riders/teams and different objectives. In the end I only managed two challenges in the series. But honestly some of the fun was just as much building up the story in my head :-)
I had:
Giving Cadel his home Victory
Win Tour Down Under with Cadel Evans
Earning the wild card
Win a stage in Paris - Nice with Bretagne Seche Environnement |

Thanks a lot! Hopefully will turn into a long term series with a twist on what has been done before

I have plans for this one that will become a story and one other for afterwards, but I am open to suggestions. If you can add them to the Fight For Pink story though, that means this one hasn't got a long list of suggestions at the start of it

Sounds like a fun idea to do it across the World Tour. I'll have to dig out your stories to have a read up on them!

Yellow in Yorkshire
Story Background
In 2014, The Grand Depart of the world's most prestigious stage race was hosted by Yorkshire as the Tour de France returned to England for the first time in 7 years.
The opening stage took the 198 riders from Leeds to Harrogate via the Yorkshire Dales, while the second stage saw the peloton ride from York to Sheffield, via Holme Moss, before a third stage in England finished on The Mall in London.
For one man in the peleton, there was one goal in mind... Mark Cavendish wanted to wear Yellow in Yorkshire. Sadly, after a crash with 200m to go on the opening stage, his dream would end before it really began.
In Chapter 2 of my Grand Tour Series, I will look to re-write Tour de France history, by firstly winning the opening stage in Harrogate with Mark Cavendish, and then seeing if I can then go on to win his 2nd ever Green Jersey at the Grand Boucle. He will have a tough task ahead, with a startlist including Marcel Kittel, Peter Sagan, Alexander Kristoff, John Degenkolb etc.
In real life, Vincenzo Nibali took home the Yellow Jersey, after Chris Froome and Alberto Contador crashed out the race, like Cavendish. Let's see what will happen this time around!

This should be more of a challenge than the Giro with Dumoulin. Yes, Cav is a top rider but I always find sprints more unpredictable
Thanks a lot

Yellow in Yorkshire
The 2014 Route
The 101st edition of the Tour de France starts in the UK for the first time since 2007, as the peleton will take on God's own country, Yorkshire, for the Grand Depart.
Starting in Leeds, the first stage will be a chance for the sprinter's to take the year's first Yellow Jersey, as a flat run in to the town of Harrogate will greet the riders. The Peak District and the hilly city of Sheffield will be next on Stage 2, before a transfer to the south for Stage 3, as the peleton takes on the flat roads of Cambridge to the Nation's Capital, London.
Stage 4 sees the race hit the French mainland, with another day for the sprinters into Lille, before Stage 5 takes the riders over the roads of Paris-Roubaix, and the cobbles of the Arenberg Forest. Two further flat stages give the sprinters further chances to strengthen any grip on the Green Jersey, before the riders head into the Vosges Mountains ahead of the first rest day after Stage 10.
Before this rest day will be the climb to the ski station of La Planche des Belles Filles, where we should see the first battle of the GC men.
From the Vosges Mountains, the peleton rides towards the Alps, with big mountain stages coming on Stages 13 and 14 into Chamrousse and Risoul respectively. Sandwiching these big GC stages, are days for the break; Stage 11 into Oyonnax, and sprinter's days on Stage 12 to St-Etienne and Nimes on Stage 15.
The final week of Le Tour hits the Pyrennes instantly, with three big stages to Bagnères-de-Luchon, Pla d’Adet and Hautacam on consecutive days. Stage 19 will be a flat day for the sprinters in Bergerac, ahead of the first Time Trial kilometres
to Périgueux on Stage 20.
The race finishes as always on the streets of Paris, and Évry being given the honour of hosting the start of the stage to the Champs-Elysees. By that time, Yellow should be confirmed, along with Polka Dot and White, but will the Green Jersey go down to the final day...?

Sorry for the slow down on this when compared with the Fight For Pink story. I am back at work now after my time off following the birth of my son. Can only really play stages and write up reports in the evenings around feeds and sleeping (him not me )

No worries about the slow down. Congrats on the birth, mate! Who needs sleep anyway? (well, hopefully your son will sleep regularly)
