Geraardsbergen-Bosberg Preview
Belgium welcomes us once again for the fourth running of the Geraardsbergen-Bosberg. As is the norm in Belgium, no cobbles mean no fun. And add in some tricky inclines into the equation and we have cycling perfection! The last two editions of this race have seen a home winner. Can someone from Belgium take it out again? There are enough of them in contention at least!
| HIL | COB | SPR | ACC | Ferreira | 68 | 79 | 71 | 69 | Kluge | 68 | 77 | 77 | 75 | Breen | 70 | 77 | 73 | 72 | Machado | 63 | 79 | 62 | 61 | Drucker | 65 | 77 | 74 | 75 | Zhupa | 67 | 77 | 74 | 68 | Jacobs | 64 | 78 | 65 | 63 | Taubel | 65 | 78 | 61 | 64 | Kulppi | 67 | 77 | 65 | 70 | Grand | 65 | 77 | 65 | 65 | Van der Haar | 72 | 75 | 72 | 70 | Eeckhout | 61 | 77 | 64 | 57 | Abraha | 64 | 75 | 74 | 72 | Minoungou | 65 | 75 | 69 | 68 | Veelers | 61 | 75 | 73 | 72 |
Ricardo Ferreira starts as the top favourite for this race, with his ability to survive the hills and with a decent burst of speed at the end. It's his cobbles which do stand out most of all, and that's what is most important in this race.
Roger Kluge and Vegard Breen have similar strength on the stones. While the latter gets over the inclines a bit better, Kluge is the fastest finisher among the favourites which could give him an advantage in a reduced bunch sprint finish. Breen will have a much stronger team supporting him though.
Marc Machado is on par in terms of cobbles skill with Ferreira but lacks considerably when it comes to the other factors involved in this race. If he can navigate the hills safely, he too is an outside shot for the win.
Jempy Drucker's record in this race speaks for itself with 6th and 2nd in the past two editions. Although he slightly lacks in uphill abilities, he more than makes up for it with his strong sprinting and acceleration. He should be a podium contender once again in this race.
Eugert Zhupa is similarly skilled to Drucker with the exception that he is not as explosive with his efforts.
Pieter Jacobs and Cristoph Taubel are another pair of riders who are very similar and should be in Top 5 contention. Their drawback stems from their poor backups to their cobbles abilities. Taubel does have a strong team backing him up in this race, with teammate Arnaud Grand another rider who could be looking at a Top 10 finish. Jacobs's support won't be too bad either.
Van der Haar, Abraha and Veelers are riders who would be looking to use their all-round skills to get a high finish in this race, while Eeckhout and Minoungou would be hoping that prowess on the cobblestones is enough to ensure success.

Our first race this month, so quite happy to just be racing again. Would be great to see Drucker on the Podium, but top 5 a more realistic goal.

BNZ for a breakaway win!
Honestly though I’m kinda curious to see how Matzka goes. Not a huge Cobbles talent but the guy has a strong sprint finish. Might be able to get a nice spot if In the select group.
Good luck to everyone!

We've got to hope the hills aren't too impactful here as we need to avoid getting dropped on them if we want to get anything out of this one.
Then we don't have that good of a sprint unless Veelers can hang on so we'd need a late attack or for it to come down more to who has energy left than who's got the better sprinting ability.

Hills aren't the strongest part of my team. Either are cobbles. So again nothing to expect. Probably the maximum I can ask for is some TV time from being in the breakaway. |

I sent Siskevicius here..I guess we had nothing else left for him. Maybe an upset somehow? Just attack every hill I guess

Very important race for us as we have a top 5 goal here. Naturally, I would be happy with every result that achieves that. Really need to bounce back after a couple of poor races!
Breen is our biggest hope, no doubt, but it's also a race that should suit van der Haar, so should be possible to have two guys in the top here.

13th not ideal but Eeckhout is a slog uphill so I'm rather satisfied, Naesen in 21st also saving the day.
Congratz ste another one by Kluge, and to think that it was possible for him to be in my team Thanks Abhi for the report!

Very productive race. We achieved our goal and collected a nice amount of points after a solid team effort. Can't really complain, then!
Breen performs at the level that is expected of him. Still think he's got a bit more in him, but in any case hard to do something with a rider like Kluge. Van der Haar with another great performance, though. Very impressive that he crossed the line in 6th, seeing how far back he was at one point. De Bondt in 16th is also good.
Congrats to Ste and thanks for the report, Abhi!

Indeed nice comeback from VdH. He did not look too well for a while. Solid result, though I had hoped for more Kluge is just a beast on this level. Congrats, Ste and thanks for the report!

Congrats to Cerveceria Costa Rica & Roger Kluge, spectacular win.
I little below what I was expecting / hoping from Drucker, but good to see Eduardo Colon in the points.
Also very nice to see former teammate Oscar Gatto doing this good at Sauber Petronas.
Thanks for the report.

Top 10 from a cobbles race? Don't mind if I do, I guess Siskevicius being there helped Kaupas, great ride

Great result by Zhupa our love for cobbles keeps growing
Nice team performance from the entire team with Thymides and Frankovic scoring a fee extra points. We also helped to control the race.
