The teams will ride using variant or old team names and jerseys for each manager, to provide distinction but also recognition.
This was written in the thread.
I would be more then happy to create full packs of "new" teams if just provided with the basic information. If needed.

Thought PT Amateur teams might be entitled to form their own unique HQ thread just like any other team (part of the reason for different name from the parent PT team I'd reckon)?

Excited to see which Oceanic and African riders see some action and develop further - can think of a few really useful lvl2/3 Africans who could score some break points this year!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Hoping to see my boy Molano getting a PT amateur contract for the season. Few more South Americans (maxed and development potential) that are good enough that they should be on most if not every teams long-list!
I'd assume that the Admins (and DB deep-delvers) would prefer that individuals are not highlighted in exactly the same way as in advance of normal transfers (other than the 'dev pool' nominees).
Nevertheless on all continents outside of Europe a veritable gold-mine of remaining interesting talents (at least in context of PT amateurs!) still remain unsigned for the 2018 season. However, with the majority of teams signed up being from Europe, expect most to mainly focus closer to home. Hoping some will prove to be a wee bit more adventurous!

A reason why i did not want the amateur team to have Evonik in its name is that i didnt want any confusion when talking about the different teams. Also to seperate the teams a bit more: evonik is the team where i try to be competitive while Signal Iduna is the team thats just a nice easter egg in ct reports where i dont try to be competitive amongst other amateur teams but just pick riders i find cool
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Team list:
Wiesenhof-Andritz | Heine | Eritel - Sonatrach | SportingNonsense | Mitchelton - Cobra9 | tsmoha | Festina-Canal+ | SotD | RBC Spidertech | jt199 | Becherovka - Petrof | Roman | Bianchi Racing p/b eBuddy | alexkr000 | Signal Iduna | knockout | Vattenfall | cio93 | Team B&O | viking90 | Risa - Ergon | tastasol | Newton Foundation | Mresuperstar | Diesel Development Team | Gustavovskiy |
Porto name is tbc, as Gustavovskiy is going for an Asian amateur set up.
As you'll see there are 13 rather than 10 - have given one to all who showed an interest. |

Regardless of whether we get to populate the HQ with extensive introductory posts, a short statement regarding my team:
Vattenfall has always been a minor sponsor for Team Puma - SAP and has been visible on our jersey since day 1, albeit without any noticeable Scandinavian representation in the team itself.
The major reason for that being that we are sponsored by the German subsidiary, and obviously not all minor sponsors can be implemented in the team in such a way.
However, the Swedish parent company Vattenfall AB has brought forward the idea to work together with the team management of Team Puma - SAP to find a unique way to present them as a cycling team sponsor to the world:
An amateur team affiliated with the main team taking part in a portion of the CT calendar, but riding under their own name Vattenfall with a distinctive own jersey.
The approach of the Vattenfall team this season is twofold:
Our sponsor Vattenfall wants to see some success with (preferably) Swedish riders to promote the brand and will provide the major part of the budget for that purpose.
The experienced core of the team will therefore be made up of Scandinavian riders.
Team Puma - SAP itself participates in this project with a desire to benefit from this adventure through the acquisition of overlooked talents from Germany or neighboring countries.
The goal is to give those riders experience riding in the pro peloton after the disappointment of transfer season, and to bring those riders closer to a level where they become interesting to either ourselves or the broader pro cycling community.
There is a chance that good results for one of those young riders can facilitate a contract for the main team in the future, but either way we are happy to nurture local talent.

As with Cio just above a short statement regarding RBC - Spidertech:
Spidertech the Kinesiology Tape brand have extended their long standing (5 year) partnership with RBC to promote and run a Amateur team for the upcoming season. After the MGUCI requested amateur teams to ensure competitive racing throughout the upcoming 2018 season.
The Canadian brands will look to only employ riders who have the potential and age on their side to step up to the Pro scene in the future. Saying that while no age limit is set do not expect to see riders in the twilights of their career.
The team's approach will be to give the riders a new experience in the Pro Peloton with the hope of developing them so next season a pro contract is attainable.
"The dream is all 8 are signed next season to ride on one of the tours. Obviously it's not possible for them all to sign with the PT RBC Pro Cycling but as long as they end up better riders with a greater chance to fulfil their dreams our work is done" |

Team B&O is back!
This, and a new Swedish and Norwegian amateur team too! Very exciting!
You guys could be more original with the names though. I know you're gonna use old jerseys, but you can still change it up at least a little.

Wiesenhof-Andritz licence was taken over by T-Mobile, but with the arrival of amateur teams the sponsors decided to have one last hurrah to give a last chance to some regional heroes and develop some talents they believe can become good cyclists in the future!
The management is looking forward to racing in the CT where we have no experience at all, hopefully we will be able to sign some riders that can have some fun in breakaways

Did kinda ask for history rather than originality, so we know who is who
But I will be changing mine to 'Eritel - RwandAir' for a slight difference.
