The Grand Tour wildcard teams are now ready to be revealed, and it was a tricky decision, with 10 teams interested in riding a Grand Tour - which I am pretty sure is a record, and did require some additional considerations, from previous selection criteria.
First priority went to the teams who have already competed in PCT for at least one season, and have never ridden a Grand Tour. This filled 4 of the 6 slots.
For the 5th, we've given it to a team who have been in the game for the longest period of time of all applicants; have never received a GT wildcard; and their only PT season was all the way back in 2015.
The final position was a challenging choice, with three newly promoted teams looking to ride a GT. We've decided to reward the manager who most actively contributed to helping the game last season, through the reporting of races.
So the results are:
| Giro d'Italia | Meiji | Philips - Continental | | Vuelta a Espana | Azteca-NBCSN | Minions | | Tour de France | Kraftwerk Man Machine | Fablok - Bank BGZ |

Very worthy wildcards to teams and managers who have all contributed extensively to the MG during their history! Having seen my team in 2 of them, it's an awesome experience for a PCT team.

Six very worthy recipients, can't complain there! Can't wait for Philips to storm the Giro!

Congratulations! Great to see new teams in the GTs, and will be really interesting to see what some of the riders can do!

Congrats to the teams going to GTs! We got the Tour a couple years back and it's awesome getting to race their, do it justice by sending a strong squad and you'll come away with an awesome race!
And Phillips is winning the Giro.

Very excited to ride in the Vuelta this year! Its a huge step forward for the team, that hopefully won't be taking another step back at the end of the season.

Very interesting, and good choices IMO (not knowing who was not picked of course).
I'll look forward to riding against you. Hopefully you won't interfere with my plans, but help take away points from my competitors

Welp, with having six level 4 riders I wanted to max out, not getting a GT completely screws me over.
I guess it's not something you can count on, but the last years gave me hope.. Oh well, grats to the teams who got one |

WCC of course disappointed to be one of the teams to miss out. On the other hand the decision making process makes perfect sense, and great to see so much interest in riding in the GT's from PCT teams. Good luck to each of you on your exciting GT adventure!

Thank you for the Vuelta wildcard, that really means a lot to me. Obviously Úran will be present there.
Congratulations to the fellow wildcards!

It's unfortunate for sure, much more interest in GTs this time around, and amount of Level 4 riders isn't a factor that has been considered.

Didn't know the XP counted anyway given they don't take up actual RDs?

These seem like great choices, especially with Abhishkek, who has done such a massive job as reporter.
Not looking forward to see the likes of Úran, Henao and others join the GT battle, though.

They do count! You pay money for it, you take xp from it.
rd do not count as you don`t score ranking points, clashes though also count with PCT races. |

Now I feel very lucky that I got GT Wildcards two years in a row when needing it to max my riders
Reasonable selection criteria as well. Had somewhat expected Pluchkin to go but guess the PCT gets to have him all for themselves this year.

Previously I have generally been surprised at the lack of applicants for GT's from PCT. Even knowing this history I was still personally very reluctant to rely solely on this path for upgrading lvl 4 riders, so loaned them out early in the window to take that pressure away. Fortunate I made that decision now! From an over-arching view-point, an uptick in interest in GT wildcards definitely a good thing to see.

And now for the remaining wildcards.
The four teams who missed out on a Grand Tour all have received their next highest priority. This sees Ayubowan at the Tour de Suisse, Popo4Ever at the Dauphine, Team Reddit at Paris-Nice and World Cycling Centre at TONE. All other non-GT teams should have received their top priority race as well, with there fortunately being no non-GT race with 3 or more first choices.
Monuments were the least popular category, with only 5 interested teams - and just Ronde van Vlaanderen receiving interest from all 5, MSR only attracting 2 teams! The distribution of choices meant that it was not possible to simply give 2 monuments to each team.
In the Stage Race category, it was not possible for all teams to receive two races. The Grand Tour teams therefore only received one. Popo4Ever also on one stage race, but together with Reddit, they have received the most wildcards of all teams: 6 in total.
And with 7 teams showing interest in the 11 classics, there was plenty of races to go around. 4 classics went to Xero, with their classics-only application, and Kulczyk - the latter having only been awarded 1 monument.

I've always, always wanted to race TONE, finally we get a chance!
Kwiat is a former stage winner, let's see what he can do!
Tirreno should be intresting as well, some clashes mean we can't send all the talent we want, but on the other hand that means we can send a stronger squad, which is great.
