Looks like La Flamme Rouge is no longer open for route creating - does anyone know alternatives.

Croenescalada - don't use it so could also suffer from the google maps thing. I like plotaroute (use laflammerouge for presentations) too, but could be a similar issue there.
Also, google are all greedy dicks and I hope the laflammerouge team find a solution!

I used to work with Openrunner in the past, not as good as LFR but still very useful.

Wow, that's really sad. 
Plotaroute is definitely my favourite, usually I use that in conjunction with La Flamme Rouge as it has the best tools for the actual route plotting imo.

Un-related question - if you make a variant with a different number of stages than the one in the game, what will happen in career mode ?

Depends. If say you make a variant with 7 stages when the actual race has 6, the 7th stage doesn't count (isn't a part of the tour). If the variant has 5 stages and the actual race has 6, then the default 6th stage is put in. |
