Final stage of the race and while Uran has secured his GC win - barring any disaster in today’s stage - with the flat stage we have, the Points jersey is still in play between Cavendish and Guerao.

As everyone knows, flat stage in the last day of a stage race are always breakaway-prone, so eight riders have jumped from the bunch and form the BotD

Really windy conditions today, as we have winds over 40 km/h. No splits yet with 50 kms to go, although the bunch seems to have controlled the breakaway, as the gap is just 2 minutes

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-002.jpg

20 kms left and only 76 riders stay in the bunch in this moment! The gap with the breakaway is 1’30, and Kraftwerk is working really hard to catch them. Some sprinters like pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/hrm.png Keukeleire, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/vad.png Manninen or pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/min.png Manarelli have been dropped. And pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ebd.png Aru is the best placed in GC which has been dropped! And from the top20, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ubs.png Schelling and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ino.png Brenes are also in the second group. From the top30, all but Rodrigues, Teklehaimanot and Rosskopf are in group behind the main group. And watch out with pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mei.png Gilanipoor, who is one of the last in the group, in heavy risk of being the next one dropped

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-003.jpg

16 kms to go and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Kudus has been dropped now, as the bunch has splitted in two groups, with only around 40 riders remaining in the first group. And with the Eritrean, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/pum.png Kelderman, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/mop.png Pomoshnikov, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mei.png Gilanipoor, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Nazaret, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ebd.png Herrada are also dropped from the main group

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-004.jpg

With 11 kms left, only 33 riders remain in Uran’s group, with pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/fab.png Roche being the most recently dropped rider

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ssc.png Haidar Anuawar, Rodrigues, Suryadi, Guerao
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/fes.png Lecuisinier Farantakis, Koretzky
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ubs.png Reinhardt
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/kmm.png Mehr-Wenige, Irvine, Kreder, Cavendish, Kiserlovski, Denz
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/rbc.png Young, Houle
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/spy.png Reimer, Wellens
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Silvestre, Marquez, Chiarello, Santos
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/min.png Úran, Sinclair
pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/fab.png Guardini

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/aeg.png Olivier, Bauhaus

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-005.jpg

7 kms to go for the 7 riders that are left in the breakaway, as pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/fab.png Margaliot has been dropped a few kms ago, although he’s still between grops, when 3 riders are breaking away from the rest of the breakaway. They are pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/aeg.png Thurau, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/vad.png Paajanen and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/nvo.png Kasperkiewicz!

Meanwhile, in the bunch Kraftwerk has stopped working despite having 5 riders apart from Cavendish, allowing pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Kudus, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/fab.png Roche, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mei.png Gilanipoor and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/pum.png Kelderman to be back in the group and almost giving the win to the breakaway

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-006.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/aeg.png Thurau makes his move for the stage win with less than 4 kms to go, and no one can follow him!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-007.jpg

And as sudden as Kraftwerk stopped, SPAR has began to work in the group, quickly reducing it to only 25 riders! And in the second group there are riders like pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/fab.png Roche, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/tsa.png Kunshin, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/mei.png Gilanipoor, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/pum.png Kelderman and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/bgc.png Chiarello!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-008.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/aeg.png Thurau is entering the final km, with pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/vad.png Paajanen around 15 seconds behind him, while pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/nvo.png Kasperkiewicz is between the first two riders and the rest of the breakaway. In the bunch, Kraftwerk’s train has separated themselves from the rest of the group, a group where only 15 riders stay, including the GC top6, but not pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ers.png Kudus and not any other sprinter but pcmdaily.com/files/Micros17/ssc.png Guerao

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-009.jpg

Bjorn Thurau wins the final stage in Germany! He made his attack for the win in the right moment, and this is his reward for it

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-010.jpg

Paajanen is second, while Cavendish is able to sprint to third place, narrowly beating U23 world champion Kasperkiewicz for that place.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-011.jpg

Kreder makes two in the top5 for Kraftwerk, beating Silvestre in the line, while Rabon and Calmejane, both from the BotD, take the final ranking scoring places in the stage. And now we wait for the GC riders to arrive!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-012.jpg

Lecuisinier, Olivier and Uran are the first three GC riders to cross the line today, so that means that Rigoberto Uran wins 2017 Deutschland Tour!!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-013.jpg

Wellens, Herklotz and Marquez arrive in the same group between a mess of breakaway riders, sprinters and domestiques. So the top6 in GC will keep their GC spots

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-014.jpg

Kudus will be seventh in GC no matter if he is gaped to Uran’s group or not

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-015.jpg

Lots of tiny groups arrive at the finish, although in this big one we have several riders in the top20 of GC, so we’ll see how much time they have lost and the changes that have been done in GC

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-016.jpg

Amazingly, no time gaps at the end... So no changes in GC in the zone of 10-20

Rigoberto Uran goes to the podium as the winner of Deutschland Tour! A much needed result for Minions in their fight against relegation

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-017.jpg

Mark Cavendish wins the Points jersey in a home race for his team, ahead of Oscar Guerao and Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-018.jpg

Magno Nazaret wins the KoM jersey after his epic journey yesterday, beating Dayer Quintana and Dadi Suryadi in that quest

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/PTHC/Germany/Germany-08-019.jpg

And Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier takes the final jersey available, the U25 one, ahead of Silvio Herklotz and Daan Olivier
