I am struggling to find the best way to control the in game action.
1. I mean, how do you control the game. With the keypad and the keyboard or do you do it with the mouse by clicking or a lilltle bit of both?
2. I'm often placed between difficult choice, I'm about to win with the breakaway but I have a strong sprinter in the pack and we're very close to the finish. Do you sacrifice one and play with the other or your able to manage both almost at the same time?
3. Same as 2 but sometime at the start of a tour I have too many leader possibilites. How do you pick the right one? Or, do you choose along the way?
I'm not using "pause" as I feel that is breaking the magic of the game. Like playing in a race car game using pause... And, I feel like cheating a bit...how do you guys do?
1. I would reccomend a mix of both. Use the mouse for concrete orders, like setting the "dot effort" in a certain number, or to select a rider, and then use the keyboards for the rest, but only if know the shortcuts.
That's what i do
2- In this case i normally try to control my riders in the bunch. I still look at the breakaway rider, but with the bunch riders i try that i'm never in first place, at most side to the first rider in the group, so i'm not directly catching my rider. This way, if the escapee can't make it to the end, my sprinter is on a great place to win
3- Well, that should depend on the form of your rider, but season and daily form. But normally you will be forced to choose in the first mountain stage, at least if you want to win and not do like Movistar in 2015
I try to avoid to use lot of times the pause. I usually pause the game when i want to know how the race is going in a key moment, or after a crash.
But it's basically practice. I you get used to play without pausing, using a lot of shortcuts, and those things, when you want to do something in game you'll do it automatically
For me it's pause early, pause often, especially if my attention is divided between several groups. I certainly recommend learning the keyboard shortcuts even if you like to pause.
Apart from that I'd say find your own playing style, I like to micromanage the effort of my riders, but anything up to letting the AI take over with the automatic mode is possible. The latter allows for an extremely relaxed way of playing (except for cursing at the stupid AI decisions).
Ok, I see. What I rather like to do is to play normal but not allowing me to pause. This give me realistic result with the my rider compare with the AI.
