Does anyone know if your own or your opponents riders can have stats over 85 during the race when having a very good daily form or due to bumping the difficulty to hard or extreme?
In PCM 2015 I noticed that when I set a few riders on 85MO like Froome, Quintana, Landa etc. that there often finished a pack of 7-8 riders together at mountain stages because a few weaker riders with good daily form (Gallopin 81MO or Yates 82MO) could still ride with them.
Difficultywise I would say that your own stats are decreased on higher levels rather than that the AI gets boosted.

Am I right with that assumption?
85-99 it's the same, at least since 2015 i think? Not to sure.
The scaling of stats on difficulty im not to sure. It used to be
Easy: +2
Normal: +1
Hard: 0
Extreme: -1
??

Since the scale doesn't go further than 85 since PCM 15, riders with 85 getting a positive form will keep their stat on 85 - which is why it's not a good idea to make a db with 85 as a top stat too.

Nope. Difficulties are multipliers added to the base stats of the AI but not to your riders. In local.cdb you can see how much the AI improves - or gets worse - based on their difficulty. If an AI rider has an average of 75, on normal difficulty it will stay the same, while it will improve to about 77,5 in extreme - assuming he has no form for that day.
The form system is too random for me. I mean a rider can have -1 form indicated and gets a boost on his most importants stats, while downhill or fighter is decreased. That makes no sense.
Why don`t they just apply -1 to all stats with a -1 form and +3 to all with form +3 for example?
Well, it wouldn't be exactly fair actually. This system makes a bit more sense when you consider that PCM considers MT, HI, TT, CB and SP main stats and all others secondary stats.
If the form affected in the same way the primary stats and the secondary stats, the daily condition would have a much bigger effect than it should and the results would be more random.
Until PCM 16 I believe, the Time Trial stat wasn't considered a primary stat, and stuff like the PCM.daily Man-Game was negatively affected by this because better time trialists would regularly be beaten by much worse ones because of the daily form effect, that could have given +10 boosts in TT to certain riders if they hit that lottery +5 form.
It makes sense that two hypothetical riders with a +5 and -5 daily form get very different backup stats, though. I just think that the effect should be smaller on main stats and it would be perfect - and it shouldn't happen that riders with 0 and -1 as race day conditions still get boosts in certain stats which sort of is part of the problem.
