Steam problem + can't launch pcm17

Today I bought PCM17 finally. I did it with steam but I have some problems starting the downloaded steam application. It's always updating when I run it & then it just stops working. Somebody can help me with this problem?
I'm on windows 7 ultimate service pack 1

Try reinstalling it, odd issue.
