A lot of teams on the startlist but no dominance from any team in terms of strength with pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/cpl.png Compal holding the most cards. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/pnd.png Lutsenko is easily the favourite if the bunch decides the race though.

3 riders attack this morning, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/ssc.png Nepomnyachsniy, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/pum.png Shishelov and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk.png Kochetkov are the opportunists today.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/NC/Kazakhstan/MG16_KazNC_1_003.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/cpl.png Compal are willing to chase but they can’t keep this group contained and with 10km left they have just under 5 minutes lead.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/NC/Kazakhstan/MG16_KazNC_1_004.jpg

With 4km left pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/pum.png Shishelov decides to strike out on his own before the final hill!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/NC/Kazakhstan/MG16_KazNC_1_005.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk.png Kochetkov puts in a big effort to reel him back and under the flamme rouge they join back together for a sprint!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/NC/Kazakhstan/MG16_KazNC_1_006.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk.png Kochetkov pulls up alongside pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/pum.png Shishelov and they begin to sprint with 500 metres left! pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/ssc.png Nepomnyachsniy still waits behind not having touched the wind for a long while!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/NC/Kazakhstan/MG16_KazNC_1_007.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/pum.png Shishelov had nothing left and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/ssc.png Nepomnyachsniy came too late, leaving the door wide open for pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk.png Kochetkov to win the Kazakh Champions jersey!

Kazakhstan has roughly three time trialists of equal calibre to keep this race exciting as pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk.png Nepomnyachsniy, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/cpl.png Fominykh and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk_kaz.png Gruzdev will go up against each other.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/NC/Kazakhstan/MG16_KazNC_1_008.jpg

However there's another contender it seems as pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk.png Kochetkov is spurred on by his road race win and is up with pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk_kaz.png Gruzdev on the early checkpoints and sets the best time at the finish.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/NC/Kazakhstan/MG16_KazNC_1_009.jpg

And pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk_kaz.png Gruzdev can’t challenge him at least, finishing 4 seconds down at the finish!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/NC/Kazakhstan/MG16_KazNC_1_010.jpg

His lead lasts up to pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk.png Nepomnyachsniy starting, who beats his teammate by the reasonably small margin of just 28 seconds, however he has someone else bearing down on him!

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/cpl.png Fominykh almost catches pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/vuk.png Nepomnyachsniy, blazing through the course, claiming the lead by 1’53 and becoming the new Kazakh Time Trial Champion!
