The Finland National Championships is one of those great races where every rider rides for the same team, fortunately for the sake of sporting tension they’ve been split up into different groupings to work together. Kulppi will ride in Evonik colours, while there are three teams each with one of their best puncheurs, with Vastaranta and Paajanen the clear favourites.
Halme and Nurmi attack immediately, both are pretty equal puncheurs, so we should see a good showdown if they get to decide the race.
We’re all surprised to see the break have a 15 minute lead as they reach the flamme rouge riding next to each other, watching each other and not wanting to launch the sprint too early!
With 500 metres left, Nurmi moves in front and begins to launch his sprint!
Halme doesn’t really even stand a chance and Nurmi becomes the new Finnish National Champion!
1 Roope Nurmi Valio - DeLaval 2 1h24'15 2 Samuel Halme Valio - DeLaval s.t.

Reigning champion Pökälä seems a pretty certain bet for the ITT, Halme is his biggest competition.
This might be a better race then expected, as Halme is 7 seconds faster than Pökälä at the first check and extends his lead to 15 seconds at the next! He finishes with a time of 1h19’39” and can only wait now.
Pökälä comes into the finish and… he’s lost time on the final sector, his total deficit is 20 seconds!
This means that Halme has overcame the odds and wins the Finnish National Time Trial Championships!
