Hello and welcome to the National Championships for Estonia and Lithuania. The two Baltic nations join together for this flat route, where we will probably see the break take it again today.



Three riders disappeared up the road shortly after the flag drop and they wouldn’t be seen again all day by the main peleton. Egidijus Juodvalkis (IS2) was present for the Lithuanian representative, whilst Martin Laas (ISO) and Gert Joeaar (ESB) would be contesting the Estonian title.



The trio would work well together up until the last 5km, where Joeaar would look to go solo for the victory. He had tried some accelerations earlier in the stage to no effect, but now he was able to gain a 10� gap. Could he hold on with the Isostar pair working well behind?



He won’t be caught and the Eddie Stobart man claims the Estonian National title! Laas leaves it far too late and can’t catch him before the line. Juodvalkis rolls over the line for a comfortable victory in the Lithuanian battle.

The Time Trial wasn’t as a closed case as some other National Championships we have seen so far, and both nations had some match ups to watch out for.

We start with the Estonian title, and sadly it ended up being a lot more one sided than we had hoped before the start. Reigning champion Tanel Kangert (GZL) was on form all throughout the stage, and comfortably took the crown by over 2’24� ahead of the new Road Race champion Joeaar. Did the Eddie Stobart rider leave too much on the road yesterday?



The Lithuanian title would also go in favour of the pre-race favourite, as again the reigning champion would take the jersey in 2017. Ramunas Navardauskas (FRS) was rarely threatened at the time checks, and took the victory by 32� ahead of Bagdonas, with Konovalovas (VUK) another 20� seconds further back.
