A cobbled classic race will be the route of choice for the Israel and Cyprus National Championships. No real big cobblers amongst the Nations, so this could be fun...

Looking at the two nations, we had two battles on the road:

Arrinera vs Goldstein
Loizou vs Athanasiades


We would get an answer how the match ups will pan out as Noam Cohen (ARR) and Marios Athanasiades (VUK) attacked up for the road and with that confirmed their respective National victories.



To say that the other riders didn't really care was a massive understatement, and the final result provided it. They would finish over 1 lap down on the pair up the road.



As the stronger sprinter, it was an easy victory for Cohen, leading out the final dash to the line ahead of Athanasiades.

If the Road Race was foregone conclusion as the attacks happened then the Time Trial was decided before
a wheel had been turned.



Marios Athanasiades (VUK) was clearly the strongest TT rider in his match up between him and Christos Loizou (IOC), and well it showed on the day here. Just a mere 4'47" would separate the pair at the finish, and the Ukraine rider would confirm himself as the double Cypriot champion.



For the Israeli title, it was Roy Goldstein (GEN) who had it all wrapped up before the start. No one rider from Arrinera could get close to him all day, and he takes the TT crown by 4'08" to his nearest rival.
