Max number of stages for Stage Race

I want to create a fantasy stage race with a lot of stages, anyone know whats the most? If you don't have an idea, you can just telll me if 30 stages would work?

I'm pretty sure it's either 28 or below 28, but I could be wrong. I tested this in PCM 13 or 14, but now I can't really recall perfectly.
