Game Crashes Trying to Load Career

Hi,
My game keeps crashing when it attempts to load my pro cyclist career. I'm at May 25, 2018 in the Giro. I've never had any problems before. I'm using the PCM DB. Any thoughts on what is going wrong here?

Do you mean it crashes while actually loading, or when it has already loaded and you are going in-race?

When it is actually loading the career itself from the main menu. It crashes immediately. Did the save file corrupt somehow? |

Either the save got corrupt or another totally unrelated save corrupted the entire folder - yes, that happens in PCM!
In the first case, you can only restore a weeklysave as last resort, taking it from the weeklysave folder in your documents and copying it to the saves one (pcm 16\cloud\username).
In the second case, you'll need to delete all the saves you don't need from the folder, whilst keeping the one you're playing.

Which one should I try first? This career is the only one I play, so should I just delete all the saves but that one to see if that fixes it?

Yeah, I'd try deleting all of them first and if it doesn't work restoring a weekly save.

So I deleted all of the files, copied the weekly save in. Played 3 stages with it fine. Now all of the files I deleted keep showing back up in the folder? I deleted them all from the recycling bin...
Now when I click to load the last save of the one after I played the three stages from the weekly save, nothing happens. If I click the general load button from the main screen it crashes the game... Any ideas what is going on here? This game is perpetually frustrating. |

It's because of the Steam cloud that saves all your save games on their server and restores them each time they're deleted. You should find the option to deactivate it somewhere, or close Steam, delete the saves again and when it opens a message about the cloud should pop up.
