Just like in the first stage, the sprinters are favourites to win today’s stage. This one, however, offers at least a more diverse route, with a few actual slopes, compared to the pancake that was yesterday. From what we have seen, no one is unbeatable and it’s hard to put any rider(s) above everyone else. Nonetheless, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/tcr_crc.png Guillén, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Nelson, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/chi.png Drapac and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/nwb.png Nizzolo remain the names to watch out for.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/2.png

Today's break will be made up of 3 riders: pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/wcc.png Venturini, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/spw.png Perry and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/fnz.png Tuulhangai.

The 3 fight the first TV sprint out, and Tuulhangai, who is actually a good sprinter, takes it ahead of Venturini. Their advantage meanwhile keeps rising, and with 130 kms to go it has reached 8 minutes and a half, which could begin to be worrisome.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0012.jpg

Venturini bags the first 4th category sprint of the day ahead of Tuulhangai. With 95 to go, the gap has been trimmed down to just 4 minutes thanks to Chiquita's efforts.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0013.jpg

As it starts to rain quite heavily, it's again Tuulhangai-Venturini-Perry in the last intermediate sprint of the day, with 50 to go. The pack has gotten as close as 1 minute and a half behind, now, so it doesn't look likely they'll go the whole hog.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0014.jpg

Perry gets dropped by the other 2 close to the last KoM sprint of the day; he then proceeds to get caught by the pack with 18 to go.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0015.jpg

Venturini also takes the 2nd KoM sprint of the day, and is sure to wear the polka dot jersey tomorrow. Tuulanhgai is 2nd again, but is soon caught by the peloton as well.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0016.jpg

Shortly after the same happens to pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/wcc.png Venturini, so the situation now sees a compact group again. 12 kms to go and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/yas.png cycleYorkshire's entire train is laying down a very fast pace.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0017.jpg

3 kms to go and we can see most trains getting formed. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Podium Ambition's for pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Nelson and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/yas.png cycleYorkshire's for pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/yas.png Rowe seem the best positioned, butpcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/tcr.png Kasperkiewicz is taking pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/tcr_crc.png Guillen to the front, too.

Other riders in the first positions include leader pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/chi.png Drapac, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/spb.png Rizza, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/lse.png Vanderaerden, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/fnz.png Von Hoff, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/mop.png King and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/iso.png Mezgec.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0018.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Nelson can't get it wrong today, with Podium Ambition having in pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Alaphilippe and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Ewan 2 riders in the front with about 1 km to go. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/chi.png Drapac, however, is glued to pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Nelson's wheel, just like pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/spb.png Rizza on pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/yas.png Rowe's.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0019.jpg

Just one last turn for the riders, who safely got past the flamme rouge, and now have less than 300 meters to go until they can cross the finish line. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Nelson isn't really following pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Ewan, they're basically sprinting each for their own sake. As for the others, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/tcr_crc.png Guillén, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/spb.png Rizza, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/chi.png Drapac and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/lse.png Vanderaerden are all looking in a good position to overtake the Podium Ambition guys.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0020.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Nelson seems to have started his sprint with a good timing and is in front with just a few meters to go. pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/tcr_crc.png Guillén seems to be the only one who could threaten his win, while pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/lse.png Vanderaerden and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/chi.png Drapac seem to be the best bets for a 3rd place.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0021.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/tcr_crc.png Guillén was too late to burn pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Nelson on the line, and so it's the Aussie taking a nice, close win! pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/lse.png Vanderaerden and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/chi.png Drapac are also very close to each other, but it's the Belgian ahead for a matter of a few centimetres.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0022.jpg

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/mop.png King takes a very good 5th in front of pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/iso.png Mezgec, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/spb.png Rizza, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/yas.png Rowe, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/fnz.png Von Hoff and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Ewan, who rounds off the top 10.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Denmark/PCZ0023.jpg

Other riders are quite a lot of meters behind, and they're actually leadouts of some of the riders in the top positions: pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Alaphilippe is 11th, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/yas.png Brammeier 12th, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/yas.png Murray 13th and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/iso.png Bole 14th. It will be interesting to see whether splits are awarded or not.

...which they aren't, the officials decide there was not enough distance between pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Ewan’s and pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/t3a.png Alaphilippe's wheels to consider them.
