i have started a new carrer with my own rider, trying to be an 'escapee', because i like the way of riding.
Going for some decent hill and mountain stats at about 69~75. Looks like the default flat stat is supposed to be 75+. With climber and hill training I am also gaining so good statts in sprint and acc +-70.
So overall it would be a good rider, maybe not winning the GC but maybe some smaller races and classics. But that is what I am looking for - trying something new.
But I am wondering what exactly the 'escapee' stat is bringing as an advantage. Because i could also create a puncheur training the way i do, but the rider might have less 'escape' stats.
From older versions of the game i remember it was only a stat that the AI was using when you simulate the races. I couldnt find any explanations about the stat itself, while all the other stats are quit clear.
Is it like an extra stat which gets involved when u are actually participating in escapee groups, maybe giving some extra resistance or stamina?
The fighter stat is in fact only used by the AI. The advantages the fighter training brings are different however as your rider has got the best stats to win from breaks as he can compete in pretty much every terrain and has got his stamina, resistance and especially flat stats higher than average.
Thanks for the quick answer.
So i think creating a rider as an escapee/fighter is a good way of getting a overall good rider, if you always train puncheur/climber because it looks like you nevertheless get a flat increase. At least my rider did.
Fighter is what I always used for starting pro cyclist careers. Cyanide's starting backup stats are so poor compared even to their own matrix your rider can't really be on par with anyone without a boost in those.
After about a year on fighter I then change focus to what I prefer. Take note that you don't get a lot of cobbles stats increases, because if you want to be a cobbler the northern classics training is already pretty good for your backup stats.
