When creating your rider in Be a Pro, you can select the nation and sometimes region where the riders come from. Spain, France and Italy are examples of nations where you can select a region in addition to the nationality.
Somehow though, the United Kingdom doesn't get regions, even though regional identity seems very important to many British riders (The Manx rocket, Geraint Thomas & Wales etc) and to the general public (Scotland going for another indy referendum possibly etc). Why aren't regions included for them? Anyone know a mod that adds Wales/Manx/Scotland/Yorkshire to the create-a-pro mode?
I mean, even the Netherlands (where I'm from) has provinces in the game, but regionalist identification is very small compared to GB. WTH?
Is there any reason why it's not been included in a database?
I remember seeing it in a DB for an older game and it seemed to work fine and in theory I can't see why it would be that hard to implement unless it's something that doesn't act as it should when edited.
I guess it would make the DB incompatible with the Base DB though, and you would probably need to create separate names lists for each region which is doable if a little more time consuming with how it's now changed.
To be fair, adding Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England as region is indeed not hard, it just has never been a priority. The fact it wouldn't be compatible with the Base DB is not a problem, since Local.cdb from Daily DB and Cyanide DB are already different in order to sort out the fake names for trophies/rankings/races etc.
