Relay or Infinite relay.

Just wondering which is the best way ?

Example, so my team sky are in main peloton and need to chase the leading group 5mins ahead.

So do I ,with lets say 4 riders just relay them to pull back the breakway group?

OR use, 4 riders and use one on infinite relay and then repeat with the next once the first one if exhausted ?

Normally I would say the infinite relay method is more effective because you have less tired riders you can use in any other circumstances, and what I use in these situations the most too, but I certainly am not the best PCM player out there.

I would use short relay on flat and infinite on the last climbs. Because after infinite relay the rider is wasted.

But it also depends at the distance to the finish. When leading in the GC I never give much time to the early break. I put one rider on short relay at a % which does not tire him to reduce the max. gap to the breakaway. On flat stages the sprinter teams will take over at some point eventually. And on Mountain stages I use a mountain train

Mountain train is when u use infinite on each rider one after another?

Yeah you do that by setting infinite one rider at a time and the rest at normal relay.
