To my surprise I don't seem to be able to find information in here and on the official guide on the following items:
* the relation between endurance, resistance stats and the 3D yellow, red and green bars
* the explanation of the different icons in the race day tactics tab.
* Race day simulation tactics (for example my GC rider needs to close the gap on the leader do I choose attack? Does it help to assign 5 helpers to my sprinter, ...)
Sorry if this can be found somewhere but I've tried multiple forum searches which yielded either 1.000 result or 0 and dozens of google searches.
Would anyone be so kind to help me out or point me to the correct help ?
There is no clear guide because it would make it too easy to point out how large the gap between expectations and reality really is, and how bad of a simulation it produces.
You can grasp what most 'commands' do through a little bit of practice and general knowledge of how cycling works. However, there are no clear definitions of relations between general rider/race metrics and results.
I don't think it's a bad simulation. I think it's pretty accurate, it is a game after all !
All i wanted to say was that there doesn't seem to be a guide on the different icons in the race strategy. Or even some simple explenation for that matter. Some explain themselves like ride for intermediate sprint or mountain points but the ones I don't understand are the attack icons. Sorry for the bad translation but my game is in Dutch so i don't know how they're named in english, German or French:
ride as in an escape ???
attack (only in the start of the race or also towards the end?)
follow attacks (he only counters?)
don't attack (he just lets the escape go?)
and do these orders have different meaning for Teamleaders, Sprinters and Free roles?
you could change the language of the game to French because that's the original language. Maybe the French caption make more sense. Only work if you do understand French of course.
I did not play the career for quite a while so I cannot remember them but if you post an image and mark the strategies in question, somebody might be able to help.
I only have PCM 14 so things may have changed. How these tactics work can best be seen in 3D mode and setting the whole team on automatic control. The attack option means that the (free) rider will try a late attack, about 30 km from the finish line - often doomed to fail because the peloton is riding hard. Probably only useful for punchers in a hilly finale. Following an attack by another rider seems more efficient, but chances are it won't happen at all. Check this thread for more info:
Simulation is probably a very simple affair. The function for a simulated mass sprint seems to be (taken from flat_main.xml):
<!-- 5 SP + 3 ACC + 1 PL + x END + random (1, 30) -->
So the stats of the sprinters, SPR having the biggest weight, followed by ACC and a little FLA (PL), plus a small STA (END) check depending on the length of the stage and a random factor. Assigning helpers/lead out to your sprinter (probably) makes no difference.
