MY PICK
Mark Cavendish

Form is temporary, class is permanent

Greipel was the strongest man 2 times in a row, now he will deliver...

Remotely more interesting than today. Its decently hilly towards the end. The kick towards the line is definitely too hard for Kittel fx., while I don't think it will mean too much for Cav/Greipel, but I think types like Matthews, Coquard and Sagan will like this. Its like 5% isn't it?

Sagan is my pick, ahead of Coquard and Cav.

Riis123
Could Etixx ride for Ala instead of Kittel? I honestly think it suits him more, but dno.

"After 500m of flat road, the final 500m are uphill at around 5%"

Indeed way too hard for Kittel, I don't believe in Cav and Greipel either. Alapihlippe should be the protected rider tomorrow IMO.

Who I think will win? Same as Henrik Jul (Expert on Danish TV2) because he has guessed all three stage winner.

Sagan got to step up for sure, cause Cavendish is a real danger for the points jersey the way he is riding, and with the TDF organizers trying to take the jersey from Sagan year after year, we might for the first time in a few years, have a real challenge on his hands Wink

At first i thaught that this stage would be for Cavendish as well, but there are some really testy sections on the last few km. with a uphill finish with something around 5%

So I think we are looking at Sagan or maybe Couqard, he looked strong today as well. But Greipel and Cav could contest as well, I think it will depend on how hard they race the final 10-15 km.

Gorilla can go over that. When he does, he has it.

Cav will most likely pull out of TdF early to prep Rio.

Nah way too easy for Julian. Even Cherbourg was too easy for him as you saw as soon as it flattened out 50 before the line.

If anything Cav has made it easier for Sagan by taking two wins for that reason. Although if Mark got another win tomorrow, i wouldn't be half surprised to see him stick out a touch longer and see what happens, but he won't win tomorrow so it's moot.

But it also seems way to hard for Kittel..

That's a good point. A green jersey versus an olympic medal doesn't stack up at all, and he probably needs to train a bit before the olympics if he wants a shot at some metal.

Riis123
Riding the last 4 in the Alps probably isn't optimal for his explosiveness either. I could see him abandon on the second rest day.

He has to pull out of the race if he wants to do anything in Rio, if you look at the other sprinters racing on the track in Rio, none of them are here so Cav would be a fool if he tried to make it to Paris

This is all down to form on the day. Could be Sags, Degenstache, Greipel maybe, Alaphillipe... Will be very interesting. Not Kittel. If Mathews didn't have mass sprint phobia it could've been for him.

It's not so much Matthews as it's a decision by Orica to not get to involved with bunch sprints in this years Tour, this stage shouldn't be a mass bunch sprint so I'd expect Matthews and Orica to get involved.

Ah, heard somewhere Mathews isn't confident in the situation. Could have been wrong.
