Whilst I await the release of the 2016DB V2 for my other story, I wanted to have a small stop-gap to get me back into the Story Writing routine etc.
I have always been a fan of Europcar over the years (mainly due to Tommy), and enjoy playing as them on PCM. Had many a successful career with them, including the Martijn North on here, so a career with them was a clear winner!
Hope you all enjoy

GP Cycliste La Marseillaise
Our first race of the year, and we come with one of the favourites - Bryan Coquard. Our Sprinter will be looking for early success, as he targets the early season French races as part of his build up to Paris-Nice.
A strong squad is built around him, with Adrien Petit, Fabrice Jeandesboz and Sylvain Chavanel all present. Chavanel will also ride as Plan B, should anything happen to Bryan. | | | | | | | | Route | Distance | Type | | | | | | | | | Marseille - Marseille | 141km | Hilly

GP Cycliste La Marseillaise A strong field took to the start line in Marseille, with John Degenkolb (TGA), Giovanni Visconti (MOV) and Tom-Jelte Slagter (CPT) all present for the first European race of the season.
The day's break took a while to form, with a number of early attacks chased down by the likes of Giant-Alpecin and Movistar. Eventually, representatives from Auber93, Roubaix and Fortuneo - Vital Concept managing to break the elastic of the peleton.
Bryan was our leader for today, with any attacks by the favourites quickly brought back over the hills around Marseille. It gave the break no chance of surviving, with the break being plled back into the main bunch on the last climb of the day.
Over the top of the climb, attacks began to happen with Coquard following them all. The descent was too fast to try and go again, so the possibility of a mass sprint was looking more and more likely. Advantage to Coquard.
The run-in to the line was fast, and we had to let Bryan surf the wheels instead of providing him with a lead-out. Taking the wheel of Alexis Vuillermoz (ALM), we were confident of the outcome in the sprint. Degenkolb had cracked on the last climb, and Visconti wasn't looking any better either.
The sprint was a formality in the end, and Coquard looked very comfortable in victory. No one could get anywhere near him, as he came out from behind Vuillermoz with 150m to go. The AG2R rider took second place, with Maciej Paterski (CCC) in third. Fantastic start to the season for the team!

Good luck also from me, though seeing your result you probably won't need it. |

Étoile de Bessèges
After La Marseillaise, we stay in the region for the Etoiles des Besseges race. We come to the race with an almost identical squad the season's opener, but with Antoine Duchesne coming in to replace Fabrice Jeandesboz.
Bryan Coquard will lead the team in the sprints, hoping to add to his victory in La Marseillaise, whilst Sylvain Chavanel will target the ITT on the final stage and with any luck a good place on GC as well. | | | | | | | Route | Distance | Type | | | | | | | 1 | Bellegarde - Beaucaire | 152km | Flat | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 2 | Nîmes - Les Fumades | 152km | Flat | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 3 | Bessèges - Bessèges | 152km | Hilly | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 4 | L'Ardoise - Laudun | 152km | Hilly | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 5 | Alès - Alès | 152km | ITT
