Lets say i have Contador and Kreuziger doing a mountain stage.
Would you use Kreuziger and the "Protect Contador" method ?
or
Would you put Kreuziger on "Infinite Relay" and Contador on "Take Position on Kreuziger"

I usually use the former. A strong domestique can pull the leader he is protecting away from the pack single-handedly in the mountains given good form. I find the relay button more useful in flats.

Playing la Vuelta in 2nd season.
My captain crashed on 11th stage and lost time. According to PCMs injury list, my captain wasn't injured but healthy AF. Good!
Still he lost 31 minutes on the mountain stage the day after - and my rider are good in mountains (stat 77) + he had like 2+ on the day..
So have any of you guys experienced this? Like you rider isn't injured, but still ends up in the grupetto along the sprinters?

he's injured but because it's not severe he can still ride with reduced performance.
i use pcm career explorer to check for sure.

On big mtn stages it's best to use the next best two climbers as well to protect both Kreuziger and Contador and then Kreuziger will be much fresher to protect Contador nearer the end of the race. Also a good idea never to push too hard with your main riders early on because their domestiques will tire very quickly.
Imo the best way to go is also using your team especially if its a strong team to pull back instantly any dangerous attacks instead of trying to bridge across with your leader and save his strength for his main attack.
