Right, so i wanted to try out my first Career in this lovely game.
Im picking Tinkoff, as im danish and this team was formerly made by an old danish legendary Bjarne Riis.
The first thing i do is to sign a legendary scout with either "stage races" or "climber" specialty, after that im going to my "Development Team" and hope to get a a good 5-8 potential rated youngster with 70+ average rating.
What do you think of this method?
When will these development riders be available to me?
I will do 1 question at a time, and i hope someone will repond |

scouting is mostly considered useless in this game, as is having a development team. Sorry to say
What I do to attract U23 riders is just follow the U23 league a bit and try to sign the best riders (or from a particular country)
You could pull potential stars from your development team but it's rare, if I remember correctly.
So best not to waste your money on
Nice team choice, by the way! good luck with your career. |

Allright gotcha!
Next question: Do i let the computer pick my riders for the smaller races? When entering a new race, the computer has allready pre-selected some riders for that race - should i stick with it or whats the best thing to do here ? |

Don't trust the computers pick completely.
I always handle this myself as the computer somethings picks your best riders to small races that aren't really in their race calender.
I'm very manual but I guess someone in this forum have some efficient proposals.

The computer picks seem totally random to me. I'm afraid you have to manually plan some/most/all of the season yourself which seems a daunting task at first but you'll get the hang of it quickly. Check the recent thread opened by llwh96 about season planning for some help. |

If you plan your season carefully the AI won't choose the riders itself but will pick some more accurate choices, based on the planning and not on the form and the objectives. The riders it picks are based on the objectives of the riders you set at the start at the season, but obviously if you prefer to change because of any reason, you can, it really is a personal choice.

Allright, next question:
Im looking at my squad, and some of my riders (Contador, Majka) is labelled "Annoyed" under Satisfaction.
Any reason why ? |

That's because either you are not riding them enough, not riding them in races they prefer or not riding them in big enough races.

Is this a good starting approach?
After starting a new game, i check my top riders (Contador, Majka, Kreuziger etc), what their favourite races are and make sure they are on their schedule?
So these riders usually have 3 favourite races they want to attend, can/should i still ride them in other races? |

Personally, I don't care which races the riders like, I take them where I want them and never had any problems. It plays into the satisfaction level, but I think the influence of that is small at best. I have had plenty of annoyed riders win races and sign new contracts. |
