Just like previous editions, you can ask questions about the 2016 Database here.
The following rules apply to this thread:
- Before you ask your question, check our FAQ first.
- No requests for future editions
We are doing the best we can, trying to satisfy as much members as possible, but we've got our own standards. We don't want the EP to become a giant DB, because of the simulation speed getting even slower than it already is. Because of that, our focus is on Europe (mostly Western Europe) and Northern America.
- Don't send the members of the DB Team PM's about the database, please. Otherwise our inboxes would be overflown with support requests.
Before asking your question(s), please check the FAQ first. We've answered the most frequently asked questions in there. The "Reported bugs and solutions" thread contains a list of reported bugs and their solutions.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask in this thread. We'll try to answer them as quickly as possible, but keep in mind that we're doing this voluntarily and we either go to college or work next to this, so sometimes it takes a while before you receive an answer.

We just found out that somewhere along the way, the installer got corrupted. We're working hard on a solution! Thanks for your patience.

2 questions that I imagine could be quite popular,
Does the Installer corruption only effect the DB or is the Variants pack also effected? In other words can we still download that fine whilst you fix the DB installer?
The second one might come under the no requests for future editions rule if I have worded it wrong but hopefully it haven't.
If I want to stick with the 2015 DB but want to add the new variants from the 2016DB, including the 2016 routes of races in the 2015DB, but don't want any of the rest of the new DB, is that all included in the Variant pack or will there be catch all new stages download or those of us that don't want to carry on our 2015DB career's but add in the new Variants without downloading the rest of DB if we are not going to use it?

yeah for both installers are corrupted, apparently because we used an older version of our installer.
So stop downloading, cause all your downloading is 15 GB of nothing xD

The Variants DLC is compatible with all databases, so yes, you can just download the Variant DLC and keep playing with the Expansion Pack. We recommend installing the 2016DB though, since a lot of bugs of the Expansion Pack have been solved in this database.

To clarify the current situation a bit more: apparently something went wrong when we created the installers. We used an old version of Smart Install Maker, which is software that creates installers, to compile the installer. We don't know what exactly went wrong, but we've updated our software and are re-compiling the installers right now. Hopefully we'll have everything working again tomorrow, so we need you guys to be patient for a little while longer.

How about young rider names?
I am sick and tired of danes having womens names, or a combination of turkish/arabic/vietnamese etc. names because of an old Championship Manager DB that Cyanide used. |

I know they have been updated  But how thorough was what I was wondering. I have seen a couple of DB's with this feature, and several of them still had female names in. |

We've tried to do this the best way we could, but keep in mind that we are no specialists in foreign names.
To do this really thoroughly would take a lot of time. We're all doing this voluntarily, so we don't have the time to do this as thoroughly as you might prefer.

Another question: Are the AI transfers now more realistic? They used to be all over the place, because the nation of the riders wasn't considered in any way. |

We can't do nothing at all about that, it's not something editable via editor/xmls. The best we can do is editing dyn_sponsor_regions but even then those values are not completely respected by the game anyway. You'll often see a lot of teams buying foreign riders even when a nationality is set as 100% of the team, such as Topsport, Bardiani or Roompot.

When I downloaded and opened the .zip I see something from a german website and forum...
is that one a mix between PCM DAILY and the german forum or should we wait?
I can't see any .exe or anything to install from PCMDAILY!
