I could probably just copy & paste last years opening post as the winner is the same.
The Michelton Bay Classic Series once more starts early on and Orica GreenEdge`s young prospects shine.
Caleb Ewan wins the first two criteriums. Both times ahead of Drapac`s lead sprinter Brenton Jones. Most impressive that Ewan only had Haig as team mate for the first crit and additionally Alex Edmondson for the 2nd. Still controlling everything.

Caleb Ewan keeps the lead (31) ahead of Shaw and Jones (20 each) but was not able to make it 3 in a row after being too far back in the last corner.
Probably the toughest crit in the Bay Classics as also pretty windy.

Ewan takes his 3rd win on the final criterium and also the GC (once again). Orica dominated as expected but Drapac gave them a nice challenge.
Looking forward to Brenton Jones in the Tour Down Under as Drapac`s leader. 3 times runner-up behind Ewan surely not too bad.

It's pretty hard to roll a GreenEdge sprinter in the Bay Crits these days so Ewan was always going to take this out barring accident

He will be Drapac's sprinter at the TDU but not the outright leader, Earle and Norris will be the one's who could hang on up Willunga.

I know. I meant sprint leader.
Earle and Norris might hang on. But I would be surprised if they make a top15 in this field to be honest. So their focus probably is on the sprints and breaks just like last season. |

First two stages in Tachira have been raced. The early stages are flat and 2 Venzelueans have won. Only reason you should be following this race is because the best climber of his generation is there.

Nice to see you and your blog back but There's a thread for that
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Only in Tachira, where the race leader after 9 stages, who won two uphill finishes and was up there with the best on every stage, is losing 24min on the last stage droping from 1st to 30th.
Also the first non Venezuelan winner since a long long time (2007)?

Palini wins the first stage in Gabon, by beating Hutarovich and Petit in a sprint.

How is Andrea Palini still not getting an offer by some bigger team? Even though most of his races are 2.2, he is more or less in the top5-10 on any stage he enters.
Riding for Skydive Dubai surely not most ideal for reputation but still he could be solid for any Italian PCT team. Just 26 years of age as well.
Also watch out for young 20 year old Joseph Areruya from Rwanda. Looks like some kind of top talent there. Wouldn`t be surprised if he joins a bigger team (MTN?) after this season when he is just half as good as in 2015. |

First stage in San Luis (TTT) has departed. Livestreams should be on their offical youtube account everyday hopefully. But don't expect much.

Palini also wins the 2nd stage in Gabon, in a sprint of course. Hutarovich 2nd, Teshome 3rd while Gène plays the Rojas.
