pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_000.jpg

The final stage and the time trial of the tour of Tasmania, the race will be will be decided over 15 kilometres between Howrah and Hobart. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ven.png Phinney and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fes.png Coppel are the favourites for the stage although the real battle is for the GC with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/tcs.png Trofimov (+ 42”) and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/met.png Ignatiev (+ 1’18) both better time trialists then pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Hagen, this race could come down to the wire.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_001.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/btc.png Martin is the first stage contender off and he sets a time of 20’53 the best time of the early starters, that’s the kind of time we can expect to see today.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_002.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ozc.png Durbridge is a real favourite today despite being far down in the general standings, he sets a time of 20’36 and now has a long wait to see his stage result.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_003.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Kittel tops pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ozc.png Durbridge’s time by just 3 seconds, that puts a real dent in the hopes for an Australian to take a win on home soil.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_004.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fes.png Coppel finishes provisionally 11th, 18 seconds behind pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Kittel, a surprisingly bad ride by the French champion.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_005.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/rbh.png Cancellara finishes just 1 second short of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Kittel, the Swiss champion just unable to top the provisional standings.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_006.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ven.png Taylor Phinney flies through the course, hitting the line in 19’58, 34 seconds faster than pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Kittel! He’s not the world champion in this discipline for nothing. This is also a huge step towards a top ten finish, given he was just over 1 minute outside the top ten before the stage.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_007.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/met.png Ignatiev crosses the line provisionally fifth, with a time of 20’34. This means that pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Hagen needs to complete the course in under 21’52 to keep his lead, barring other riders.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_008.jpg

Bobridge rides a fast time trial, much faster than expected, there’s no toppling pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ven.png Phinney but he is second, 28 seconds slower, but also 8 seconds faster than pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/met.png Ignatiev, meaning it’s now impossible for pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/met.png Ignatiev to win. Bobridge was 42 seconds behind Roche prior to the stage, now pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Hagen must finish in under 21’08.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_009.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/tcs.png Trofimov comes in even faster, there must be a more favourable wind blowing now as he tops pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ven.png Phinney! He comes in with a time of 19’55, meaning pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Hagen must finish with a time of 20’37, currently equivalent to finishing 8th and topping pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ozc.png Durbridge.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_010.jpg

Roche finishes 23rd, 1 minute down on pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/tcs.png Trofimov, so definetly dropping behind him overall, it looks like Roche won’t even keep his top 5 position now, depending on pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Hagen’s performance.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_011.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Gastauer rode well yesterday but time trialing isn’t his forte and he finishes 1’13 slower than pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/tcs.png Trofimov, this will likely place him in 4th in the overall standings now, with the podium pending on pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Hagen.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_012.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Hagen comes through and stops the clock just 29 seconds down! Enough for third on the stage! He wins the Tour of Tasmania by just 13 seconds!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/Races/PT/Tasmania/MG15_tasmania_3_013.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Edvald Boassen Hagen wins the tour of Tasmania! Truly a great win from him here! As well as taking the points classification and a stage win.
