Hi,
I have Win10, I instralled original version of PCM2013 from a CD, but error report occured: file d3dx9_42.dll is missing. I can not repair it
I have two questions:
1. does 2013 version is compatible with Win10 at all?
2. if yes, how can i repair this error? I tried to find some support at web, but advices refer to Win 8 version or... are just too IT for me Pls, can you help me with that? Can you explain how to make the game running?
Thx in advance,
Brgds,
Marcin

Hi,
This looks like a DirectX problem, try installing the newest version of DirectX or maybe the redistributable that usually comes with the game.
Hope it helps! |

Thx for reply.
I tracked this path, looks like the game requires DX 9, while installed is 12. More, with Win10 DX is integrated, so you don't have a "manual" access to this...

You mustn't. You have to install DX10, not single dlls. Otherwise there will always be some dlls missing

As far as I know, you either have to install the dlls or put them into the folder where the exe of the game is.
But it should be far easier to download a directX installer and run it than hunting down each file individually. |

Installing DirectX on Windows 10 is quite difficult, since there's no Win10 compatible installer for DX11, 10 or 9 afaik.

I'm not very well IT-skilled guy, but I think Paul23 is right, there is no DX dedicated for Win10, as it's integral part of the system and it's updates as if you would instel the system update.
The FAQs do not refer to Win10, as when the game was created there was not Win10 at all (if I'm right). Or maybe, what FAQ do you mean, to be precise?
And little off topic. I consider buying PCM15 on a steam. Do you think I may have similiar problems?

You shouldn't have those problems with steam cause afaik it checks for the needed directx alone.
Btw you may want to try downloading these: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...px?id=5555
Not sure how much it will be useful in Windows 10 but it could be that this one it's not included there and needed for some games.
