We're slowly getting ready for the new cyclo-cross season!
For a nice calendar of the upcoming season (with GMT +1 hours), check this site
Psyched about the Las Vegas cross being part of the World Cup. Curious to see how it'll pan out.
Meanwhile, the riders are getting ready for the start. Sven Nys is starting his last season, so let's hope for a goodbye in style. Van Der Poel said he isn't too good now after an injury, so let's hope the World Champion finds his best legs soon and we'll see some epic battles with Wout Van Aert!
May the mud begin

Great to see it kick off again.
Yeah, will be interesting when VDP will get into the mood of things and be fully competitive. Injury looked quite nasty back then but shouldn't put him out for too long. I think he's training already.
Surely the big question is if VDP and especially WVA can confirm last season and dominate again like that. Are they eligible for World Cup Elite this season?
Not sure how guys like Meeusen, Van der Haar and Pauwels prevail this season against the wonderkids. Naturally, both of them are a year old and probably a year stronger, but with VDP's injury who knows..
Sweeck looks to be in some great form lately and may get some wins in season start. Also, big question of course: Quo vadis Nys in his last season. Hoping he can go out on top.

Yeah Nys should go out with a bang and a few victories
I think he still has it, especially in the toughest courses.
Van der Haar will be good in the fast courses, as he always is.
But so ready for Van Aert and Van Der Poel domination and many, many duels. Bring it on!
Will wake up at 6:30 on Thursday to catch the Las Vegas cross live! |

Cross season incoming, i am looking forward to the premiere of Las vegas cross in the World Cup, should be an interesting spectacle.
So i hope you guys will inform me live about what is going on, as i cant watch it at work.
What sucks big time is a fact that i wont be able to watch the biggest guns in Tábor this year, as it is again absent from World Cup calendar, last year it was also absent, but WC made for that perfectly.

great, I'll be in probably, if you also have some live stream would be great, because it seems it won't be in Tv in the Czech republic
Thank you Andy for everything!

Btw. Czech Republic is coming to Las Vegas with only four riders across the all categories (obvious financial difficulty).
Men:
RadomÃr Å imůnek
Michael Boroš
Adam ŤoupalÃk
Women:
Kateřina Nash
Almost a home race for Nash, so she can be listed as one of the favourites i would think, it depends on form. She was good few weeks ago at MTB world cup, but she avoided MTB world champs on purpose...
I am looking forward to what our two young guns Toupalik and Boros can do in senior category (i think they should be there now), i hope for decent progress.

Don't know too much about CX, (except for Ian's game. ) but I think I might be able to come on at that time (not sure though?) will be interesting to watch a race.

Toupalik already showed great promise last season. Hope he can do well this year, too! |

I think this will be the year for the youngsters. I really hope Nys can win a few races, but I don't see him winning one of the classifications. Pauwels will hopefully win a few races as well, and maybe finaly grab a jersey, but I don't see anyone else from the older generation do much. This will be a Van Aert - Van der Poel - Sweeck year.
Does anyone know what Stybar's plans are?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Last I heard Stybar wasn't sure yet if he would ride crosses.
So if he does, it'll be like 3 crosses max I'm afraid.
Will miss him, definitely! |

I dont remember any particulat info about his plans for winter, but as he is a road star now, i would not expect more then those 2-3 crosses like Ian suggests. It is a shame, but on the other hand, i can enjoy him longer now on the road.

Well I'm sure he'll be doing World Championships if Lefevere is down with it, of course that just might be my hope of seeing the best line-up possible.

Mathieu van der Poel will miss the cross in Vegas. He's still injured from his crash in Tour de l'Avenir. I bet we won't see much of him in the first part of the season. He's been out for some time now, so there's no way he can get in shape on time.
Bummer really! He can already say goodbye to winning the World Cup. You can't win if you miss a single race. |

Ah so unfortunate
So Van Aert will have to win everything on his own.
But Mathieu can come back later and kick ass at the World Championships, though. |

With a translator, or just watching the pictures, a nice introduction to the course tomorrow, it's main obstacles and way below a full overview.
