What are your graphics settings like? It might help to make them really low.

The age of the computer does not matter. What are the specs of your computer? Does it comply with the minimum system requirements of the game? |

Your GPU is indeed quite weak, which could cause the problem.

Please not that site again...according to that site, I can't even run Battlefield 3....which I can easily run on 120 FPS with highest settings.

Yeah, it must be the weak gfx card. With my old PC stages also took ages to load, I think my "record" was 16 minutes. But a few months ago I bought a new PC and wow, what a difference, now it takes less than a minute.
I don't think it improves the loading times, but for the crash after the race disable the replay, that should help. For loading times it should help to untick isolated buildings and changing the level of urban detail to 0 in the graphics menu. Of course, stages would always look like barren wastelands.
If you'd like to replace the GT 220, which really isn't a gfx card to game with, without breaking the bank, I'd recommend the GTX 750 ti. Actually, an AMD at the same price - R9 270(x) - offers even better performance, but it draws more power from the PSU so make sure your PSU will be able do the job. |

Damn, sorry to hear it. In that case, let me put a positive spin on the long loading times, and I don't mean this as a joke, I wasn't so unhappy about them. You can get up from your chair, stretch a bit, clean the flat and so on.
