DEM files for Midwestern United States
hampsten91
In the 2015 game, are there DEM files for the Upper Midwest, 40-50N, 80-100W? Buying PCM 2015 is a non-starter for me, if they are not in the game.

Is the same area now available in DEMs usable with PCM 2012? The same dead links keep coming up in my searches, due to people replying without really knowing the answers. If someone has those files, I would like to have them. I have 104 DEM files in my Data section. I read somewhere on this site there are at least 227(!) True?

I don't want to buy a new game, because my game barely runs on the old hardware that i have. But, if I have the software, maybe I need the hardware.

.dems are useable from older games.
I'm pretty sure there are additional .dems somewhere.

Does this one work for you?

No, it doesn't. I get a 404 page.

Thank you all for replying.

Yesterday, I noticed that the DEM files for PCM 2015 were in the latest downloads section of PCM.daily.

I downloaded them and put the DEMs for the geographical areas that I wanted into the Data section of my PCM 2012 game.

I loaded the gpx file that I had into the Stage Editor and got an overhead map in the 3D Tab.

I clicked on the Top View tab and clicked on the Palette tab of the Contextual panel. Then, I clicked on Load GPX/KML file. I chose the gpx that I used the first time and clicked open.

The route that I wanted and imported then appeared in the Top View window.

I created a short test stage using the same map and route. When I imported it into the PCM 2012 game ii it ran.

The DEMs for that area were dated 6-19-2013. So, there is backward compatibility of the DEMs, if anyone was still wondering.

Thank you to all of you (especially those who work on PCM.daily) who have helped me get this far.

Now, if I can learn only the fine art of criterium-making!
