For the first time in the history of Man-Game, the new season is going to start with Continental Championships. MGUCI selected 4 organizators for each continental championship in all continents and invited 634 riders from 107 nations to compete in 9 races in Africa, America, Asia (with riders from Oceania taking the part) and Europe. All managers of race winners will get a chance to contact their shirt maker to create for them a new fantasy champion jersey for 2015 season.
So in other words there will be a road race and a time trial in each of 4 continents, plus in addition in Europe there will be a B RR, as the goal of MGUCI was to allow all nations with at least one rider signed by a team to take a part in a race. Only top 20 nations from Europe (decided by factors of team leader's strenght and quality of team depth; in a similar manner it was decided which 24 nations will take a part in European TT) are allowed to race straight the A race. The nations of 4 best riders in B race will promote and will take part in the elite race as well.
Free agents are allowed to participate in races as well, but signed riders had a priority during selections of riders. The selection of riders was this time made by using formulas in Excel and if two or more riders were equal in their quality, the rider from a team with lower number of riders in that race got in. Hopefully all the best riders should be in the startlists, if a big rider is missing, I am really sorry about that, mistakes can happen.
The exact formulas how riders were secected are:
For RR: (2*HIL+OVL)/3
For TT: (2*TT+0,5HIL+0,5PRL+OVL)/4
In addition to that MGUCI are creating another bright new event for MG world - Intercontinental Championships. The idea is that top 24 riders from every Continental Championship RR should promote to Intercontinental Championship RR, where each continent would create 3 teams with 8 riders in each one, so total number of 96 riders will compete for a title of Intercontinental Champion. Even with no champion jersey available for winning the race, the race should bring a lot of interesting and unique racing, where the best from the best will compete for their continents. In a similar manner the top 8 riders from each continental time trial race will represent their continent in prestigious Team Time Trial Intercontinental Championship Race.
African Championships - Pietermaritzburg, South Africa
Asian Championships - Nagasaki, Japan
American Championships - Bucaramanga, Colombia
European Championships - Huddersfield, Great Britain
Intercontinental Championships - Ponferrada, Spain
The races are listed in the order they are going to be posted.

Cool stuff!
Will check the complete startlists later, but Asian TT looks like a big goal. Sergent to spoil our party?
Aussies should do well in the road race, too. Will be fun to watch. Maybe Bobridge with a chance for an earlier/mid-race attack?

Thanks for organising all of this Roman. Should be a very interesting way to start the season. A great chance for so many riders to start the season, and hopefully some good racing.
Will be looking forward to the African races in particular!

Great idea - go Sri Lanka!
Just a quick question though, according to the formula wouldn't Kadri race instead of Molard for France. Or was he taken out due to the number of my riders already in there? |

Really looking forward to this. Especialy seeing how Vastaranta will fare - he could have a real chance to do something in Euro B.
Also nice to see us represented in most races in both America and Asia though I have much lower expectations for those.
Thanks for organizing.

Team Bulgaria = Team Lululemon/Bulgaria.... again... As they are my only riders taking part i hope for something but none of them are great punchers.
It looks like a good addition to the game and the pre-season is getting busy now with this alongside the Bay Crits. More racing is only good (as long as it doens't slow the actual season stuff down at all, which this doesn't so yay)

Euro B could well be for Prevar, has quite a strong team as well Vastaranta and Konovalovas should be strong too...
Wonder how Nepo will do in the Asian TT, should be decent enough to get a good place there.

Looks great, especially all the hills! Anyone but TVG winning the American Road Race will be a massive disappointment. Just thinking of the jersey Aidan could create for that makes me excited.

Disappointing not to have any of my Frenchies or Spaniards but they don't really suit the course. Nice to see loanee Nazir in there for Syria. Also hoping for wonders from Borisavljevic in Euro B!

Looks great Roman, thanks for putting this together
With nearly a whole team in Africa + 2 major contenders in Ben Nasser and Impey, hopefully we can get a win in the RR! That's probably our only chance of victory, so I'll eagerly await that one. For the rest I guess it'll just be great viewing. |

Looks very interesting
I don't expect very much of my riders, but I hope to at least see any of my riders do something

Exactly, you have Roux and Gauthier in the race for France, while Simon and Molard got a preference over Kadri, because they are riding for a CT team and I tried to give them a preference in cases like this and their teams don't have other riders in race either. That is the same reason why only one of Koretzky/Pichon from Festina is in too, and exactly the same reason why Vichot from Orange is not riding as well.
Similarly the preference was to allow more riders to involve, so for example Michael Ford is riding over Jack Bobridge, even he is a little bit worse in formula, but Bobridge is a big favourite for RR race as well, so he likely doesn't want to be tired for it!
