A new season lies ahead, the 4th in line with Italian chocolate manufacturer Venchi as title sponsor. Ferranti Computer Systems steps down as title sponsor, but will continue to be present on the jersey, though to a lesser degree. This means the team name for the 2015 season simply will be “Venchi”. However, despite that a Belgian sponsor no longer will be a part of the team name, Belgium will still continue on being heavily represented in the roster alongside our Italian riders. Thereby, Belgian equipment suppliers FFWD and Vermarc Sportswear have both renewed their sponsor contracts, and also Wilier Triestina, Giro and Fiat will stay onboard for another season.
2015 marks Venchi’s comeback season in the Pro Tour division. Our debut season two seasons ago was no success. A tough season where we were unable to fight for the big wins ended in relegation and a new season in the Pro Continental Tour. This year however, our foundation is a lot better, making us more optimistic about our chances of staying up. Still, improvements will be needed. Like many other promoting teams, Venchi will attempt to sign a top class stage racer, something that is lacking in the current squad. In addition, the team will be looking to improve the cobble- and time trial departments.
A jersey for the new season is currently in the making. Keep an eye out for it here!
In order to achieve this, the future of some of the current riders in the roster is uncertain. In the recent renewal negotiations, the team released both Olivier Kaisen and Claudio Corioni to free agency. All other 19 riders where re-signed, but it is highly unlikely that all those 19 riders are still with the team after transfers. Dan Craven have recently been linked to other teams and sources also claims the future of Malaysian talent Mohammad Shawal Anuar Aziz and Italian profile Cesare Di Maggio are unlikely to lie with Venchi. Make sure to follow this thread for further rumors, updates and statistics!

Venchi decided to release two riders in the recent renewals. While Olivier Kaisen was not offered a new contract, Claudio Corioni were not happy with the wage we could offer and decided to to leave us. We thank him for three good years at Venchi and wish him the best of luck with finding a new team for next season. Pablo Mudarra returns to ONCE after one season with Venchi in the Pro Continental Tour, crowned with a win in the Costa Rican national championships. Meanwhile, Sean De Bie and Sonny Colbrelli returns to the team after a successful loan period with Simply RedBull.
Even though Corioni and Kaisen were the only riders to leave the team in the renewals, they will not be the only riders who ride for another team the next season. We have decided to put three punchers on the transfer list, in order to strengthen other parts of the team. The most notable name is without doubt Cesare Di Maggio, who was 2nd in the individual PCT rankings in 2012 and 9th last year, grabbing a total of 6 HC and C1 wins. Also Tour of Ukraine-winner Dan Craven and Malaysian talent Mohamed Shawal Anuar Aziz are available for transfer. See the table below to get the full overview over new wages and the transfer status of our riders!
Festina are still extremely interested in Marcel Aregger whom we chased big a couple of seasons back (Or was it last season? ) - The wage is interesting, and he could be an amazing leadout for Tzortzakis and Coquard in the future.

There has been quite a lot of interest for Aregger over the last few seasons, and he is probably one of the riders I least want to sell. That being said, I do have quite a few semi-good sprinters that could take his lead-out spot, so a deal is not totally out of the question.

Keep di Maggio in PT please...
I would actually prefer if he signed for a PCT team. Would love to see him contribute to another team's promotion!

Wow di maggios salary... Quite a pay rise :S
Yeah, expected his wage to rise ahead of renewals, but i didn't think it would be to such a dramatic extent. Should still be decent value for money, though.

Di Maggio, aka better Mendes. Will have to take a look at him for sure.
Adam Yates is another guy who really impressed me during his Avenir ride for me, but it depends just what "no status" means...
Simon has been talking to me, and both he and I are very keen to re-unite the twin's under the BLK jersey. Hopefully we will be able to turn that No Status into an Available

It means I'm willing to listen to offers!

Simon and Adam on the same team would indeed be cool! That being said, Adam could be a vital part of my stage racing departments in a few seasons, so I'm a bit reluctant to sell him. He's not irreplacable, though, so I'm sure I will talk to both of you once transfers starts.
