I started my first 2014 career yesterday.
But I'm a little confused as the how the CQ points system works exactly.
Or to be more precise, why it works that way.
More to the point, as it is in the game now :
For stage races, you get a certain amount of points for wearing and winning the various jersey's.
If I remember it correctly, leader and mountain jersey (and further down the resp. rankings) get the same amount after each stage.
For the points jersey it is only the leader getting points. (Only a few points, same as the stage winner)
My questions :
-Shouldn't points & mountain jersey be equal, and be less rewarding than the leader jersey ?
-Is this something I can change with the editor ?
Spoiler Just as info:
I'm not all to familiar with the actual system in cycling today.
From what I could find, the UCI changed the whole system recently.
They now use a global system for the Worldtour, and regional systems for the continental circuit.
Only the GT's have points to win for their jersey's. (And only for the first 3 at the end of the GT)
The CQ system is no longer officially in use.
But it seems it only gave points for the final mountain and final points classifications at the end of the tour. The same amount as for a stage result.
And I'm not sure how far down the ladder they went, looks like only GT & WT-Tours

You can check the CQ points per category (holding a MO jersey in a .1 race, in a WT race...) in the game (under: Rules).
I'm not sure but I think this can be edited. Someone'd to confirm this, though. |

This is where I noticed the problem myself. (changed my post a bit to make that clear)
I was hoping somebody knows if this is editable, and maybe someone knows how it should actually be, to at least resemble what is happening (or used to happen) in cycling. As it is now, I'm pretty sure it's wrong... |

It's editable and possible to change, can't say how from here though

Open the DB with an editor.
Go to STA_bonus_superprestige and see what you get for points and prizemoney if you win a race of the Cat.21 for example, or just a stagewin or the polka-dot Jersey etc (points = gene_ilist_bonus, gene_ilist_primes = money)
And STA_bonus_UCI is responsible for the points you score in CYA-Worldtour or Kontitour. |

Thanks Lofkvist.
Guess I'll have to do some more research and start editing.
Anyone around who knows how the points system works IRL, or how it used to work until recently ? |

This is how it was until 2005.
The UCI are using another system since, most of it can be found here (pg 57) :
https://www.uci.ch/mm/Document/News/Ru...nglish.pdf
My main question are :
- How does promotion to and relegation from the Worldtour work ?
- How does promotion to and relegation from the Procontinental division work ?
- Are there points awarded for mountain & sprint classifications ? if yes, for which races (GT, or all the way down to 2.2 ?) and do you get points for leading the classification after each stage, or only for winning it? |

Race classifications are decided by the xml file the race is using You can find it in C/Cyanide/Game Folder/XML and it's not hard to make your own xml files, but I think that clamel covered that already

I just tried the editor, but it is all a bit confusing...
this is how it looks in the editor :
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles...=418869833
This is how they say it works in game :
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles...=418872408
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles...=418872348
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles...=418872298
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles...=418872135
Either I don't get it, or the editor doesn't agree with the rules page.
It seems fine in the editor, not sure how it relates to the real world, but at least it makes sense.
Why doesn't it say the same in the game ?

I'm confused now. Are you talking about real life or pcm?
If real life, then the first 2 are a matter of money in most cases. In pcm the worst 2 in the cq ranking go straight to pct, while the best 2 teams non-wt in the cq ranking go to wt. Same for continental iirc, can't check sorry.
About the third point, you definitely don't get points for leading a jersey for 1 stage or 2, and I think that mountain and sprint affect ranking as well.

Just did some research in Langkawi, and it seems they made some wrong references while coding.
The CQ points you see under the rules tab ingame are mixed up, the points you actually get after the races are the ones you can find in the editor.
CQ POINTS
They switched a few things round :
If you want to know how many points you get for a stage win, look at overall mountain standings.
If you want to know how many points you get for a leading the mountain classification, look at sprint jersey wearer.
If you want to know how many points you get for a leading the tour (time classification), look at Overall points standings.
If you want to know how many points you get for a winning the points or mountain classification, look at mountain jersey wearer.
these are ok :
- General overall standings
- Sprint jersey wearer
